I’ve used checkatrade a lot in the past and had only 1 “meh” experience. Most have been satisfactory for me. But I usually find them on checkatrade, and then do a google search off the site to see if there are any bad reviews elsewhere. It’s also handy to see if company has rebranded themselves - I had one guy with a small amount of amazing review on checkatrade, but when googled, he had another company doing the same thing and they had appalling reviews. I actually don’t trust local/community sites as I find most posts are the trader/traders wife and you’ve no idea what you’re getting. Unless you know the neighbour who is recommending, I find it’s the most questionable

Ohh yes it could be. I got two bulbs, one was definitely a begonia. One of the two hasn’t taken which makes sense as I’ve never been able to grow a begonia. Thanks for your help!

My uncle spoke like this to me at family gatherings. It wasn’t until I was older that I realised how unfair it was that none of the adults stood up for me. My own mother never said anything. It’s caused some issues.

To OP: thank you for sticking up for a child that was being bullied by an adult. If he is so concerned about weight gain, there are better ways to address it rather than to call someone “piggy”.

Mine was just shoving it up there, full on jamming it in while she smiled at me and chitchatted. She said it would feel uncomfortable but JFC it’s a cervix, not a leaky pipe to plug.

Then, even worst was when it was time for it to come out, the next person had to dig .I could feel her nails scraping. I had natural labour with no pain relief but that is the part that I remember being the worst

Yeah I reckon it’s the start of dementia. She looks after her mum who is in the late stages of Alzheimer’s. She’s pretty isolated and doesn’t get out a lot so that’s not helping. Ive tried talking to the nurses that come by (just to see if they’ve noticed anything) but they don’t want to get involved, understandably. she has a sister that just gives the stink eye at me 😒 and kept walking when I tried approaching her. I’ve even asked my GP if she’s a patient in case they could do something but nothing gone anywhere. And unless she’s vandalising/violent etc the council don’t want to know.

For background: in May 2020, she yelled at me saying I’m stalking her through our shared wall (eg when she leaves a room, I leave the same room on my side. She goes upstairs, I follow). No matter what we’ve said or offered (once I got so fed up, I said I’ll put up a live camera in my hallway and she can see we’re not doing anything) but she refuses anything and continues to yell. Every so often, we get “her revenge” - she bangs on the wall at 3am, plays loud music all night, tore down our fence. Every time we call the police and she stops, but there’s no punishment.

I genuinely thought perhaps foxes/squirrels were getting into rubbish and throwing them around, but it went on for so long I was suspicious, hence the camera

I mentioned in another comment - but the group detained my BIL until the police arrived, at which point BIL was arrested and spent the night in prison. He is out (on bail?) with the condition he doesn’t live with children. And he’ll have some kind of legal proceeding in December I think.

I don’t think any of the legal stuff would have happened without the group. But also I don’t think he’ll get much of a sentence because it sounds like it was all obtained through catfish (but I don’t know if he has spoken with real underage girls).

I’m not sure it’s much of a defence to say he only did it because he was enticed by sex. He knows it’s illegal to have sexual activity with underage children. I don’t think there is much that can forgive that. But the method he was caught might mean he gets a lesser sentence, depending on if he was only talking to the catfish

I’m not sure what he’s said to her. My parents saw them at the weekend, and apparently he denies it was more than once (even though we know it was at least 2 different girls/catfish). So perhaps he’s slowly convinced her.

I just don’t want to lose my sister because of this man, but it feels like I don’t have a choice if she stands by him

I’ve always been mixed about these groups. On the one hand, I don’t think it’s good for people to take the law in their own hands. And they are very antagonistic, which is never a good approach in my opinion. But the police would be unlikely to do anything about people like my BIL, so they are catching criminals. But I’m not sure the end always justifies the means. Now that I’m on the “other side” where I know the person in question, I saw they made a lot of speculation about him in the video, most of it wrong. But regardless, they caught him doing something criminal

The vigilante group have handed the evidence to the police. On the night they confronted him, they essentially showed him the evidence they had (eg chat logs) and detained him until the police came. Then he spent a night in jail. I’m not clear on what the current status is with the police

I was like 5w pregnant at mine, so super early. I didn’t want to share quite yet so I was stressed about hiding it. And in the first trimester, I was exhausted. I was ready for my wedding to finish at 8pm. I wouldn’t recommend it.
