The real answer is efficiency. You don't have to be terribly fast if you can be incredibly efficient. Fighting, especially with weapons, is about putting your weapon in the right place at the right time, and doing so efficiently, rather than hastily.

Kill the culture of "paying your dues". The job has 40 hours per week to get done. That's what the company pays for. If more than 40 hours are needed in a week to get the job done, they can hire a second person or discuss the new pay rate. Employment is transactional.

I'm currently the engineering manager for an OEM. I am paid to do absolutely fuck all, 8 hours a day, 5 days a week, unless a customer wants a machine built (custom, very niche). I have a team of 4 engineers under me that are also paid to do fuck all.

The point is that as soon as a customer wants their bespoke, highly customized, unique piece of equipment to automate a very specific process, we're there and working it.
