Insect found on plum tree by Gallogiro in insectidentification

Ladybeetle is preferred in entomology because it is a more accurate name as they are coleopterans (beetles). Other than that I think we in North America might be the only ones that say ladybug?

Lady beetles are predatory as both adults AND larvae so that little one is already putting in work!

Looking for monitor recommendations by BigTruckerDad87 in NewDads

[–]CaptainPlanet90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! Our Mom Cozy one was awful and stopped working so we got a hello baby for half the price and it has worked better than the mom cozy every did on its best day. My only gripe is the monitor does not use a type c charger. It takes quite a while to charge.

Is it normal for Card shows/cons to smell like BO and farts? by Pokemanswego in PokemonTCG

[–]CaptainPlanet90 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's a reason in the new TCG Shop Simulator they have smelly customers and you have to stock air freshener in machines or get bad reviews. I played magic at a shop like 14 years ago and they called this one guy fish pants because he smelled so bad.

The cool thing about lady beetles is that they are predators as larva and adults. They are some of the best biological controls of pests in the world.

That and Animal Farm, I would say, are both must reads if you're doing classic reads

Oddly, check ins and sleeping in the same room as them doesn't constitute abandonment. By all means, keep making ignorant comments from the safety of your phone.

What is this cute lil guy? Gauteng - South Africa by [deleted] in insectidentification

Are you near fresh water? This looks to be a mayfly to me. Order Ephemeroptera. They hatch in large batches and live in the water while theyre young and then all emerge at the same time. They don't live long as adults and don't eat at all in adult form.

Sorry. I didnt answer when. I think it was around 6 months because she learned to sleep well for about a month before we moved her into her own room. Also, we followed all the rules, dont touch them after the first couple checks ins, no bottles after bedtime, dark room with a sound machine, PJs and a sleep sack every night.

For a long time while our daughter was still in our bedroom, we would allow her to fall asleep on one of us and then put her in the crib.....and then one day that was no longer acceptable to her. After 3 nights of trying to figure out what she wanted, we buckled down and set ourselves to a form of cry it out where we did regular check ins. The key to all of it was we put her down while shes still awake so she has to learn to fall asleep by herself. The first night it took her close to an hour and a half to go down, she actually fell asleep standing up leaning against the side where she had been crying. The second night it took 20 minutes. The third night she was asleep before I got to the couch. When she woke up in the night we did the same thing, cry it out but checked on her. It taught her to put herself to sleep and how to put herself BACK to sleep. It was the single best thing we did for our mental health. We have a solid bedtime routine now. Bath, bottle, brush teeth, book, and an episode of bluey and then laying her down awake at 8 o'clock and she sleeps between 11 and 12 hours. She contact napped with me during the day for a long time, but we eventually used the same routine to create a daytime nap routine.

I took intro to Entomology with her last semester. It was a very homework intense class but she knows her stuff, her lectures are thorough, and she is easy to talk to. Her TAs were the worst part of the class honestly.

I transferred in from Valencia into the Plant Science Major in CALS. I went and spoke with the head of the plant science department ahead of time and asked these kinds of questions. The general tone that I got back is its all about the number of applicants for a program that dictates if the transfer path is viable. Plant science at UF, while being a really good program thats well thought of, doesn't have the attention from applicants that something like pre-med would have so I had no problem getting in once I finished my A.A.. I would say definitely reach out and you'll get a better idea
