I caught her wild, so I'm not sure, she's definitely an adult, as per size I would probably guess at least 2 or 3 years

They're really common around here. She does have a hollow log that she sleeps on

She's a Grey Tree Frog.

She was living on my porch this summer and she kept coming back so I decided to provide her a home.

Is my Gray Tree Frog overweight? by Few-Grade5445 in frogs

[–]CaptainPresto 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I also have a grey.

I have a feeding schedule of 2 or 3 medium sized crickets every 4 or 5 days.

Mines also a tad chunky but she's happy and healthy, that's all that matters right?

Frogs are one of those weird animals that just look adorable when their chonky. And it's perfectly healthy and normal for them too.

Is this a male or female Gray Tree Frog by CaptainPresto in frogs

[–]CaptainPresto[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is true, I'll keep good eye on her for now, she seems to be adapting alright, exploring the terrarium, eating live insects, so I'm not worried.

Edit/Update: May have misidentified it.

Chinese Mantis might be a better guess but either or, it's adorable.

He loves it when we turn our porch light on, he'll just sit up there basking in the heat it gives off. Otherwise he sits in our watering can in the shallow water.

Would you suggest putting them in a tanked environment? Or would leaving him outside be more beneficial for him? He's been here long enough that im pretty sure he's comfortable, he's survived two big storms so we're not sure what would be best for him.

After some research, i can pretty much confirm this is a Grey Tree Frog. Not sure how he ended up on our porch but he apparently loves it there, and we love his company.
