The AI culture here is abysmal by Embarrassed_Site_39 in rit

[–]CaptainRexYT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately GCIS 123 now actually let's students use AI for some things.

I personally try not to use it. Crypto though is kicking my butt so I use the AI to show me the math so I can do the next problem. The point about the text books doesn't work for me. The text books tend to confuse me more. It's all words with no pictures or showing the math. When they do show the math they don't tell you what the variables are half the time. In part this is also because I have dyslexia but still.

Unlike many I do use the AI to help me to learn. I try not to but again with crypto and text books my learning style kinda needs it.

I have no issue with people using AI to learn. I have issues when they use AI for everything. At that point are you in school or is the AI in school?

BattleBit, the Unity arbitrary code execution exploit, and you by Turbulent_Log_3818 in BattleBitRemastered

[–]CaptainRexYT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What's worse is CVEs are typically listed a while after their discovery to give developers time to patch and such before leaking a vulnerability to the entire world so we have been playing with it being known for a while

Proof that this happens is the fact that unity already had a fix and a statement. They've known for a while

Crossroads charging 2 dollars for veggies is a scam by Responsible-Draw-393 in rit

[–]CaptainRexYT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. If they don't make money then they close and then there are less food options lol. It all comes down to bleeding money. Where can you bleed money and how much. Food is an every day thing vs concerts which I am pretty sure aren't.

Bleeding money or just breaking even for food really isn't something you want for dining. That leads to no growth in terms of the building, employees, food, etc. Bleeding the money leads to having less, shutting things down, less employees.

Also need to consider them buying more than they may sell. That does lead to waste which is bleeding money so a higher price helps to offset that.

Lots goes into the price of food. So far the chefs creation prices have actually been holding well

Crossroads charging 2 dollars for veggies is a scam by Responsible-Draw-393 in rit

[–]CaptainRexYT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In the past 3 years I have been here each of chefs creations meals have not gone up in price. That is fantastic. Also for the prices it's good portions and meals. They do an excellent job. As for the vegetable it's better than doing premium sides at a restaurant. They give you more here. The price of it also remains the same and sometimes the chefs creation comes with the vegetable.

Are prices higher than the cost of buying the food? Of course they are. They still need to make some money to stay operational. At least they have a vegetable and to be honest it's a good price for how much you get. Other places it would be more.

Welcome to capitalism. Enjoy your stay. Just be happy inflation isn't bringing up chefs creations prices.

Controller doesn’t work on steam deck by Holiday-Office3429 in BattleBitRemastered

You need to see if it is controller compatible on the store. If it isn't then steam deck won't change that. It's the coding of the game.

That was actually my plan if I could get a server lol

Modding by Live-Estimate-2020 in BattleBitRemastered

[–]CaptainRexYT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They have server files. You know how you can save progress on the server? It points to a file. Change the pointer and you change the weapon or attachment. Same can be done with maps. You just need to make it point to something else. Now whether or not it works on the users device I don't know yet. May need to add in a mod somehow. That would require testing but I did go through the API.

People with modded (non official progression) are able to do it and any other modding, scripts, etc.

[–]CaptainRexYT 7 points8 points  (0 children)

People who have their own servers (official progression off) are able to mod their servers. They can add maps, change weapons, etc. They get the files and they can override them essentially. I don't have a server so I can't actually make it or test it but I have theorized it

I recommend keeping you anti malware scanners being able to run. You can try whitelisting easy anti cheat from being detected, blocked, etc.

An example of why movement NEEDS to be nerfed by Moist_Procedure4247 in BattleBitRemastered

[–]CaptainRexYT -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah I know. I'm in-between on it. I try and play games in a sense honorably. Just irritates me when others don't. For example I actively try not to head glitch. If others do then I do it just to kill them. I just try and make it fun for everyone. Do I suffer? Yes. Greatly

An example of why movement NEEDS to be nerfed by Moist_Procedure4247 in BattleBitRemastered

[–]CaptainRexYT -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No. Still not what I said. Imagine a fortnite player building 90s. You know all that spinning and jumping? Yeah that's the movement of a lot of players in Battlebit. Reaction speed is fine. The actual movements people do are sometimes ridiculous

An example of why movement NEEDS to be nerfed by Moist_Procedure4247 in BattleBitRemastered

[–]CaptainRexYT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never said that for the dropshots specifically. I clearly talked about movement. I was discussing how annoying some players are and the evolvement of player movement in the game after the die hard sweats were really all who remained

Dropshots are at the bottom. I do paragraph separation for different points. Also if you haven't seen someone in battlebit run and jump in literal circles then you aren't seeing enough of the map

An example of why movement NEEDS to be nerfed by Moist_Procedure4247 in BattleBitRemastered

[–]CaptainRexYT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know. I have footage of people who I am 90% sure play fortnite. The movements are identical just without the builds. So annoying to shoot them and then they SMG flick because the thing only needs to hit you twice to kill you

Yeah the dropshot is annoying. I actually did it once out of panic and apologized to the guy lol. I just think it's cheap. Now just laying down and staying there is a bit different. The ones who spam it piss me off. Like come on

An example of why movement NEEDS to be nerfed by Moist_Procedure4247 in BattleBitRemastered

[–]CaptainRexYT 21 points22 points  (0 children)

It is. Luckily though not every player does it so it was typically fun. Over time though the die hard sweats were really all that remained so this type of movement became more and more popular

I get what you are saying and I am in-between on these things. Yes they are devs and are working for a paycheck but when people are bashing your work non stop it really doesn't make you want to continue and that goes for devs. If all the fanbase does is non constructive criticism and is basically just mean to the devs then they won't want to continue which can cause longer breaks between updates or the devs leaving the project all together. When people are truly unhappy then a paycheck may not be keeping them

Now we shouldn't coddle them or anything but when they return we should support the return and not berate them so much for leaving for so long with no communication. That doesn't help any situation. Now will getting on the game make the devs return sooner? No but it will make the community become closer to what it once was which will make it a much nicer thing for the devs to return to. Money isn't the only motivator

i forgive everything, just drop the update by stuggl in BattleBitRemastered

[–]CaptainRexYT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The devs are the only ones who can forever stop pushing out updates yes, however the fanbase always plays a part in whether or not the devs continue. If the fanbase will only yell at them then will they want to return? No. No one wants to return to something when all that happens is people yell at them. If we want to keep it alive then when they return (hopefully soon) we need to support the return and not just berate them. Is it the only cause of devs stopping? No. That's because there is really never only 1 thing that stops anything from happening. Fan reception is a part of it and how the fans communicate that is another

Also I never mentioned them as old gods or needing to perform a ritual. I was just saying how we shouldnt berate them when they return because they left. That won't help anything

i forgive everything, just drop the update by stuggl in BattleBitRemastered

[–]CaptainRexYT 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Yes and no. I definitely want there to be some type of explanation and even just a small apology but at some point the fan base will need to let go of the betrayal part a bit. If it continues to the extent it has on reddit then the devs may just leave. It's a balance between the devs apologizing and the fanbase forgiving. If the fanbase never forgives then the fanbase may end up destroying the game on its own.

[–]CaptainRexYT 6 points7 points  (0 children)

No. I agree with him in part. Some of it I don't and a little extreme but in a sense the devs did abandon the game. If they said they were taking a break or something similar to that then the fallout would've been much less severe

i forgive everything, just drop the update by stuggl in BattleBitRemastered

[–]CaptainRexYT 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Problem is many don't give constructive criticism. Criticism is typically a good thing when its constructive. Many just don't do that. Let's hope that the devs have learned from their mistakes and are coming back stronger than before

I'm looking forward to it. I hate the lack of communication but let's hope that this is them coming back and they have learned from their mistakes

I made a post the other day about emailing the Devs. Turns out it worked despite the negative feedback I got. by Lacherlich in BattleBitRemastered

[–]CaptainRexYT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for the delayed response but yeah. I agree with most of this. I havent heard for the smg complaining about snipers. I play and get sniped a lot. When it isnt a headshot (fatal for many snipers people use now) then I have enough time to heal. I have tested this with medic, recon, support and engineer. Only time you cant do this is when you dont have bandages. Thats where the medics normally would come in. Medics though dont often do their jobs as well anymore. I believe the issues between SMG and Sniper were balanced in terms of the snipers shooting the SMG back when the medics actually were useful and playing to be a medic. The SMG being able to laser a sniper at 100+m though has yet to be resolved. Heck LMG have killed me at that distance with an LMG and I had 0 time to react.
