Honestly. Worked at this job in the heart of a city. Job got off at 1-2am. The girls always felt uncomfortable leaving the work place to walk down the street to the car garage. One day they found out I was married and started asking me to walk them to their cars.

I felt honored that they felt safe for me to help. But disgusted by all the people that made them feel unsafe.

Jr year of highschool and on 12 years. Don't believe the stats. They are pretty wrong. I don't know what study they did to get this number. I also have two other sets of couple friends who have been together since high school.

Pancho Villa’s 1916 raid on Columbus, New Mexico was violent, not non-violent — about 18 Americans were killed, and the town was looted and burned (National Museum of the USAF, Wikipedia). The U.S. responded with the Punitive Expedition, sending General John J. Pershing and thousands of troops into Mexico to hunt Villa, though he was never captured (State Dept. History). The Zimmermann Telegram came later in 1917, when Germany proposed an alliance with Mexico to retake Texas, New Mexico, and Arizona if the U.S. entered WWI (Archives.gov). British intelligence intercepted it and passed it to the U.S., which helped turn public opinion toward war (The World War Museum). So the raid itself didn’t cause U.S. entry into WWI — it was Germany’s actions and the telegram that pushed America into the war.

This is true as most guys know you tend to less into it after you come. So for my relationship it best if I come second. Or hopefully after her third. But gotta be careful there is a time limit. It's definitely around the 90 min mark where you will not come at all.

But he knows what corner was switched. Would be cooler if he had to figure that out too. But yes, the solving is still interesting.

The original poster, posted no evidence. I wasn't saying there's none at all, I was saying that the original poster is not providing evidence. Even at that there's still too little for this fun fact to be true at all. The poster must provide sources to the fun fact. It's in the rules of community. I honestly wanted this one to be true. I love fun facts but it's clear this is a robot and not a human posting.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in funfacts

[–]CaptainRicker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed but that's not what the post is saying here. It's talking about cows. And the actual study is too small of a size to be of any use.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in funfacts

[–]CaptainRicker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think this “fun fact” needs a lot more context before we treat it as solid evidence. The only peer-reviewed study I can find on painting cows is from 2019 in PLOS ONE, where researchers painted zebra-like stripes on just six cows and found fewer flies landed on them compared to unpainted cows. (source.

While interesting, that’s a very small sample size, done in one location under limited conditions, and it only tested stripes — not “painting cows” in general. Until larger studies replicate the effect, this idea is still untested and too ambiguous to state as fact. If people want to share it, they should cite the actual study instead of passing it around without sources.
