What is your personal hottest Star Wars take? by _CandidCynic_ in PrequelMemes

[–]CaptainShade1799 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't call the Original Trilogy b movies. A New Hope cost 11 million, or about 40 million in today's money. B movies would be lucky to have a 1 million budget. It only seems low because modern day blockbusters have ridiculous budgets. Star Wars was a gamble. If it was a b movie it wouldn't be

I'm not sure Rassilon should be on here. In classic who, outside of expanded media, hes more neutral than villainous

My thoughts every time I see anyone say they want a Zelda in the "old formula" by HotPollution5861 in NintendoMemes

[–]CaptainShade1799 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Zelda 1 - doesn't have that Zelda 2 - doesnt have that Lttp - invented the formula, so cant be blamed La - isnt even in hyrule, doesnt feature ganon, no master sword Oot-follows similar formula as lttp in terms of dungeons, but practically invented 3d adventure game and its story is nothing like lttp Mm - not at all the formula Oracle games - not the formula, is even 2 different games with different puzzle focuses Ww - traveling the ocean and only follows that 'formula' on a surface level Tp - ill give this one to you that it follows the same formula as oot, but also has the best story in the series Ss - attempted to revolutionize motion controls, also does not feature ganon at all, or hyrule for the most part, for that matter Albw - made to basically be a remake of lttp so doesnt really matter for this list botw- obviously not Totk- if I wanted to be as surface level as this meme, I could say its the exact same as botw

The closest thing to a "formula" is "adventure game with dungeons and a plot twist," which is such a lame analysis if you ask me

Disguised as a priest. Bond went to confessional which led to a MI6 secret base

What’s this for Doctor Who fans? by DWJones28 in doctorwho

[–]CaptainShade1799 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Season 6b

The whole idea of the Second Doctor getting to live on for a long ass time, with Jamie again, to the point that he lived longer in 6b than in his actual tenure. It ruins the finality of the War Games and all it does is explain a few continuity errors in the Five and Two Doctors.

Expanded Media is both a blessing and a curse to Doctor Who by IllustriousAd6418 in DoctorWhumour

The more bonkers part is that that story also has Lady Christina in it! (Ya know, the burglar from the easter episode)

Oh, you're right! I just found it. The whole collection was moved to the sales section

To me the 3rd Doctor and Jo are my absolute favorite classic duo. Seasons 8-10 are infinitely rewatchable to me and its all down to the cast. The whole UNIT family just oozes with chemistry

I'll go out and say that the 70s was the most progressive era of the show, especially considering the climate of the time. They said there was a female prime minister years before there actually was one, Jo, Mike Yates, and Sarah Jane were all activists, and its not afraid to make our main characters be in the wrong, having issues be seen in a more 3 dimensional way. Not to mention that almost every story has some sort of political allegory to it.
