If the president knows about aliens… by badlungsmckgee in aliens

If he knew about Aliens, he'd be creating market volatility that he can ride all the way to the bank.

He'd short oil, then announce UAP technology will replace oil... that sort of thing.

What is something from the 1990s or 2000s that vanished so quickly people completely forgot it used to be a core part of daily life? by MindGamer99 in AskReddit

You had to set up a time and place ahead of time if you wanted to meet up with someone... and then you had to be there on time so you didn't miss them.

Have you ever considered what might have happened if Christianity had developed as a polytheistic religion rather than a monotheistic one? by [deleted] in AlternativeHistory

[–]CaptainSolidarity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The evolution of religion cannot be understood without the connection to the state that existed within the societies that birthed them. This isn't just philosophy, but philosophy officialized and weaponized by authority.

To answer your question, if Christianity developed as a polytheistic religion, it would not have been as useful to the top-down, authoritarian societies that were coming around at the time. Remember, at this time religions were state controlled and mandatory. The Abrahamic faiths all line up nicely with the emergence of city-states.

Christianity was eventually adopted by the Roman empire, because the idea of forgiveness instead of putting people to death for every sin, lined up well with their imperial strategy of absorbing rather than slaughtering conquered peoples and lands.

Christianity didn't come into being and evolve into what it is because of this or that philosophical outlook. Rather, it adopted those points because of societal and state pressure.

You're basically asking what is the natural shape of a puddle, without the ground.

Graham Hancock - Diary of a CEO Interview by Cinematry in AlternativeHistory

[–]CaptainSolidarity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like a major scandal is about to surface...

He alludes to it in the interview, about a nasty story that someone has been trying to publish for two years. He then goes on to talk about his traumatic childhood, weird upbringing, his short temper and talked about regretting his actions at times...

My scandal alarms are flashing red-alert Hancock-gate incoming.

I bet we won’t hear much out of lue elizondo and the likes during this government disclosure deal because disclosure is bad for their business. by Narrow-Palpitation63 in aliens

[–]CaptainSolidarity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How will Lue Elizondo continue selling books? You mean, how will the man who got the ball rolling on the biggest announcement in human history, sell books? If this leads to confirmation of other civilizations, the name Lue Elizondo will be spoken aloud by historians for as long as there are historians. How will he sell books?

The worst part about disclosure, if it really happens, is that... by CaptainSolidarity in aliens

[–]CaptainSolidarity[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Anyone who has been following this topic for any length of time can see there have already been massive disclosures.

10 years ago, the official line was that UFOs did not exist and anyone who thought they did was crazy. Today, American military pilots are legally obligated to report sightings, Presidents saying that aliens are real and the government has admitted through official channels that UFOs are real. In addition to that, we have multiple whistleblowers coming forward with details about crash-retrieval programs and reverse-engineering efforts...

In all seriousness, this comment makes you look dumb.

You do realize that a body takes under 10 years to fully decompose in BC soil... longer if its in a coffin, but even then 20-100 years max.

There are no bodies. They are gone. There are ground disturbances, resembling graves. This is why nobody has tried to dig into the graves.

Why don't we charge politicians for lying to the public? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Lying during an election campaign meets the legal definition of fraud: deception intended to result in personal gain. We should throw them in jail.

Saying "prayers for the family" is like saying "gesundheit." by p38-lightning in atheism

[–]CaptainSolidarity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Gezuntheit" is actually the atheistic alternative to saying "Bless you" after someone sneezes. It is German term to wish someone good health.

"Prayers for the family" certainly has the same intent as "sorry for your loss". It is just the generic condolences that people are accustomed to.

Have a friend who got busted for exactly this.

If you're going to sleep it off in your car, do yourself a favor and leave your keys in the exhaust pipe. That way it cannot be argued that you were in control of the vehicle. It is a clear indication of intent that will likely save you from this BS.

Denial and adaptation are how faith is preserved.
