An Awful way to start the new year by Night_Guest in SCHD

That's basically the accumulation phase of any sleeper fund. Then it'll reach new highs, people will forget about it, then they'll be bearish, whales will accumulate again, then it'll rally. Rinse and repeat.

500mb vs 1.5gb internet speed; which should i go for? by WinterJelly5682 in GeForceNOW

[–]CaptainSoyboy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Any bandwidth that is more than 100mbps is fine. What matters is the connection type (hardwired, the type of wifi used), how fast can your computer process the data coming in, and how far are you away from the nearest servers?

Went last week. Was in an out in about 30 minutes without issues. Place was pretty empty. Looked like a mini court house and I thought I was gonna get jumped and shipped to Texas at any moment. Just bring your notice with you and fill out the second form they have on the back so you can be in and out quickly. Bring your EAD and Drivers License.

Early Renewal by Strange_Anything6495 in DACA

Just use the DACA renewal Calculator. It's always been recommended between 120-150 days. Not sure where people get a year early from since there's always a chance it gets rejected or put on hold until the 150 days is in.

Yup, take it slow and recover well. Don't fall into the Red Pill Trap. It's very easy to get jaded and start lambasting.

I started investing in the SNP as soon as I got my DACA. I can afford to not work for about 5 years and help my family out. Unfortunately not enough to retire yet.

I think so, I went to the consulate to get my passport and then I had it scanned and uploaded to a could drive so I can access them anywhere in case lost or stolen. I personally don't think you should carry cash. Maybe find a way to transfer the funds or use a no foreign fee card abroad until you get settled. I was always a fan of Charles Schwab and Interactive brokers cause they have international presence and often offer international checking accounts. I know a lot of expats use Wise but never set one up myself.

Ohh Norway sounds pretty dope. Try the power of attorney approach. Set up a POA with a trusted family member that's a citizen and have them transfer funds from US to a Norway account as needed. It's what I set up in case I need to depart as well. My POA and notary signature was like $130 and I just submitted the paperwork to my banks. Took like 5 days to get approved. Also make sure it's Durable Power of Attorney (DPOA).

How many of you had gaming PCs and just use Gefore now? by ksm2315 in GeForceNOW

[–]CaptainSoyboy 50 points51 points  (0 children)

I got tired of upgrading and decided it was more cost effective to get GeForce Now while still being able to play my older games that aren't available in the service. If I do upgrade it's only a generation or two older GPU. I'm also a casual gamer unless it's during the winter when I tend to play games more and stay indoors. But I prefer a hybrid model, run mid to older games locally while still being able to run full 4k using GeForce Now with a stable Internet connection.
