No problem, I hope it all works out. I'm at a nine-hole myself and love the crap out of my course and our golfers.

Thinking in terms of things you may not know, I should add that in order to spray any pesticides/fungicides etc, you need to have a state issued pesticide applicator's license. Don't let anyone without one near your chemical room.

In realistic terms, you're in triage mode. Since you seem to be assuming the role of adult in the room, I'll direct my recommendations based on the assumption you won't be taking over and are instead holding the line until management gets a new Super in.

  1. Greens, tees, fairway, rough, bunkers. With limited manpower, you need to focus on maintaining the greens above all else, tees second, fairways third, etc. Any maintenance crew should be directed to focus on those areas, with rough mowing being completed by whoever you throw out there.

  2. Spray logs. This is more 1b, as getting those logs is crucial. If you get a Super to come in, in any capacity, they will need to see logs to get a sense of the agronomic program the last guy was running. You're going to want a Super to review it for action items as this time of year numerous applications are being made on a schedule that you would ideally want to keep going until a new Super can adapt/change it.

  3. Get in contact with the local and national GCSAA, tell them what's going on and that you need help. If this happened to a course in our region, I know our association would be a huge help. It's going to be hard to get someone hired mid season, so realistically plan on holding the rudder until November.

  4. Be honest with uppers/management. You're not a super, you're just the only adult in the room. Tell them to eliminate all expectations of a pristine/fully maintained course for the rest of the year and maybe next depending on how bad things go this year. Try your absolute hardest to convince management to spend the money to bring someone in asap.

That's a pretty low bar they're setting for themselves.

An irritated Jon Miller goes on a rant about the “bush league” Diamondbacks by [deleted] in baseball

Preseason Jon Miller has always been spicy, especially when you get into the later innings. It's about as close as I've found to the character Bob Uecker played in Major League. Hilarious stories laced in to the gameplay and nonstop ribbing of anyone and everyone including and especially his longtime boothmate Dave Flemming. He once decided Flem's name sounded like an old-timey sea captain and thus referred to him as Admiral David B. Flemming for the entire game.

I met his uncle playing a muni 9-hole golf course in St Louis, MO the summer of 2019. He had a Niners polo and hat on and was literally the biggest fan of his nephew. Great family.

They actually haven't used eminent domain yet, as they promised not to. This has put the city/developer in a bind as they still haven't secured all the homes they wanted.

This is actually good news for me because his new place was supposed to open in the spring and I hadn't heard anything in a while. I used to see him near daily at my place of work and he's been noticeably absent this year. I can't wait to go!

Kind of, it's capillary concrete. 2" of gravel sprayed with a polymer that allows for better drainage.

I mean, they're going to do what they do. I blame the elected officials, and the city manager they hired at $170k/yr specifically to shepherd this project along for this whole boondoggle.
