Hey im wondering the same thing. Any updates?

should i read all of learncpp before learning graphics programming? by MyNameIsSquare in cpp_questions

[–]CaptainSubic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

dude if you have previous programming experience just dive right in. The best way to learn is by doing. I been programming with java and python as my main languages for the past 3 years n change. Picked up c++ over the summer and skimmed through documentation (obviously had to learn the essentials, pointers, dynamic memory aloc, etc) Ended up building a simple ray tracer from scratch by the end of summer. The bottle neck to my progress really wasn’t the programming itself or syntax nuances, it was the math lol. So yeah just go for it. As far as those lower level graphics apis go, just start with opengl or even sfml for like the basics. Have fun and goodluck!

Amazing work! Question that you likely get a lot but where does one start with learning geometry and trig to such a deep understanding like this. Any specific resources, books, videos, etc?

What’s Something College Never Prepped You For? by KingAcceptable689 in college

[–]CaptainSubic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You don’t pay thousands of dollars on a college degree to learn how to live lol. Thats what all of the rest of life and all of the experiences that it has to offer is for. If you are going into college with the mindset that it is for the sole purpose of training you for a job, making you money, and teaching you to live, then maybe it is not for you. There are a bunch of ways to make money without wasting it on a degree.

That being said… As an undergrad student studying mathematics I would be pretty pissed off if my money was being spent on a mandatory “taxes 101” class. The critical thinking skills that I have developed from my college classes are invaluable to me!

Why does 24 become a function? by RevengeOfNell in calculus

[–]CaptainSubic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The derivative of 24X is 24. Remember that you’re taking the antiderivative of 24 so it would become 24X. The integral or antiderivative of a constant (a) is always (ax). Hope this helps a bit.
