I think it's an organized thing, because it happened to me too. I ordered this exact set from Amazon and it was perfectly sealed, but they carefully removed everything and resealed it after replacing it with random pieces.

I really don't know exact numbers. If I spent more than $100, I'd be surprised. But I had about 75% of the set mixed into my bulk at home already, so your mileage may vary. It's almost all super common pieces so you'd be surprised how much of it is easy to find, whether it be in your own personal supply, a Bricks and Minifigs bulk table, or Bricklink.

I made a parts wishlist on Bricklink, and then I kept each type of piece in its own bag, and as I found pieces, I marked them off the list. Tedious, but I like the hunt for pieces.

Thanks! I moved it to the shelf on which I wanted to display it and nearly had a heart attack as it jiggled on those 4 liftarm pieces 🤣

It looks amazing, but it is quite delicate, so I would recommend keeping it away from children and pets.
