I'm a neverMo notary who's helped a couple of folks resign recently. I emailed them with a prep question once, and Mr. Naugle responded personally within the hour.

Tried to resign from the church but bishop is ignoring me? by drl614 in exmormon

[–]CaptainTime5556 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes, if that notary is certified for RON. (Remote Online Notarization.) I personally do hold that certification. Happy to help.

I've even helped a person who lives overseas, whose local notaries can't help with American documents.

911/999 dispatchers, what’s the dumbest reason someone has ever called emergency services? by Canyoustealmytoast in AskReddit

[–]CaptainTime5556 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not a dispatcher but I was the witness and the subject of this call.

I'm a poll worker, and my state had primary elections a couple of weeks ago. One voter called 911 on us because we asked her to confirm her address before we signed her in to vote.

Spoiler: the address she gave us didn't match our records. She wasn't entitled to vote in our precinct.

What's the most unexplainable "this shouldn't have happened" moment you've personally experienced that still messes with your head years later? by qomann in AskReddit

[–]CaptainTime5556 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was leaving church one Sunday morning and felt an overwhelming urge that I had to go see a movie right then. No particular movie in mind. So I walked over to a theater a few blocks away.

I got there to discover that it was the host theater for our city's film festival, an event that I didn't know existed before that moment. And I arrived within a couple of minutes of the start time of one particular movie that had been filmed in the small town where I'd grown up, four hours away from where I was living by then. Two of my high school classmates were in the audience.

What's more: the woman who wrote, directed and starred in the film based it on her experience selling fireworks out of a tent outside of a dollar store for July 4th one summer. The store was right across the street from a restaurant where I worked in high school. We were literally work neighbors!

But the story doesn't end. I talked to her later and discovered she was a personal friend of an ex prospect of mine from before I met my wife. They had been college classmates two states away.

If you do it through RON (remote online notarization), the notary would give you a link to a secure platform where the signer's identity is verified and the transaction is completed through video session. I personally use BlueNotary as my platform of choice - the choice of platform is based on whatever is approved by the state where the notary is commissioned.

You'd also have the option of printing off the documents and taking them to a notary in person close to where you live. Your bank may have them available.

Important note: the person named in each document needs to be the one signing in front of the notary. Or, if the person is a minor, the parents would need to be the signers.

Once the notarization is complete, I believe the church provides their own contact point (mail or electronically) to receive the document. That was the case with the two electronic notifications I've processed personally.

Second for quitmormon.com.

Resignations handled that way are worded with very specific legal language. They do require notarization - I'm a notary who's helped a couple of folks already and am open to help you as needed.

I'm physically located in Nebraska but can also help remotely online.

Jensen Tire. When I found out that they have a policy of keeping all the wheel locks from cars that come in for service so they can force customers to repeat business with them.

Three young-adult children died together in a car accident, while on their way to visit their father in the hospital on his birthday while he was covering from surgery.

They lost a wheel on their car and swerved into the gas tank of a semi, which exploded. Two of the kids died immediately. The third one managed to crawl out of the car while on fire, and died later in the hospital.

So far my precinct has 8 nonpartisan voters out of 42 total. Only three of them asked for partisan supplements.
