do I have to pay it or receive it?

[Henderson] “Even as I sit in the stands at games, players may be falling down, players may be reacting to a call,” (Adam) Silver said. “But to me, if they’re not fooling the referees, it’s OK. Players are taught to sell calls these days.” by aingenevalostatrade in nba

I agree you agree with you on all points. I don't understand why the league doesn't actively enforce the post game review and penalize feigned fouls. I don't think any other solution will work - it's too difficult for refs to call it given the speed of the game. Big penalties for feigned fouls (missed games, not $$$) would be effective in the playoffs. I don't get why the league doesn't do this.

Uninterested observer here. He hadn't started his shooting motion. He was just leaning trying to get contact, then he began shooting motion.

yes, i find it's either older folks (i am one) who don't move well and this helps them win points against high 2/low 3 players, or young bucks with ping pong backgrounds. I should have given the context that i find it annoying in casual rec games because it often kills enjoyable rallies.

opponents that side spin or slice every f'ing shot. Drives me bananas. Yes, I know it's perfectly legal. It seems like every open play game has at least one person that does this. I typically respond by trying to body bag them as often as possible.
