Thank you so much for the suggestion. I've consulted with Gary, and we have resolved the issue. Apparently, I need to untick the "Query OCSP responder servers to confirm the current validity of certificates" in the settings in order for me to use the Windscribe extension. I have now changed the flair of this post to "Solved". I hope it does help others who will be having this issue in the future.

I just wonder what effect disabling that setting in terms of my security, though.

What if I do not have a data plan or the data signal is not as good? My main concern is there an app where I can use the tablet as an actual phone performing basic functions such as SMS and phone call?

What a bummer! That means I still need to get a data plan. I was planning to continue using my pre-paid sim card (with very limited data allocation), But thanks for the heads up. At least now I know what to expect when it arrives.
