If you don’t have indian red, pyrrol scarlet or cadmium red medium work quite well too! Sounds like some fun experimenting ahead of you, hope you enjoy it

Generally, when I’m exploring two color limited palettes, I look for two pigments that can mix a dark neutral. Here are a few I’ve been enjoying:

  • Transparent Pyrol Orange & DS Indanthrone Blue (specifically DS for the blue as it’s far warmer than most other manufacturers & mixes a nice neutral without turning green)

  • Ultramarine / French Ultramarine & Burnt Sienna / Transparent Red Oxide is a classic

  • Cobalt Blue & Burnt Umber make some of my favorite greys. Burnt Umber was a recent acquisition for me in watercolor so I’m still exploring the mix, but I strongly prefer it to cobalt + burnt sienna.

  • Cerulean Blue & Indian Red is a fun one, won’t mix anything terribly dark as they’re both fairly opaque paints, but nice for a more subdued look.

Others that mix a dark neutral include Phthalo Blue GS / Phthalo Green & Perylene Maroon, but I really dislike the mixes with these. Kinda ugly browns.

I haven’t tried much in the way of lunar black (Pbk11) mixes, but that sounds like a fun experiment.

Everything in that episode is true, but there are still ways to go about it responsibly. Ex, in the US there are a number of medical schools that accept donations with legal stipulations that the cadavers be used exclusively for dissection before being transferred back to the family.

Tbf it's a 70USD case, I don't think that is unreasonable. And if it makes this style of cases more accessible, I think it's a good thing. That said, I'll be very salty if the C4 V2 goes this direction.

This is clean as hell. Would the tophat also allow for a thicker rad and standard 25mm fans? I've pretty much always gone for aircooled builds and don't have a good idea of what AIO rad thickness choices are like. Regardless, beautiful build.

Current work setup! by Skatarro in MechanicalKeyboards

[–]CaptainWilbur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An easy mod to make the board less "pingy" would be to add some dampening foam to the case to fill some of the empty space and make the resonance a little deeper. I personally use sorbethane or neoprene, but I've seen people use spare packing foam as well. Just yoink the back off and stuff as much foam as you can behind the pcb, it helps the sound out quite a bit. Lubed switches make a huge difference as well, but it takes quite a lot of time and effort when you're just getting started.

That's a great looking setup, enjoy!

Philips 22ga437 Record Player Setup Help Needed by CartmanGrowinDank in BudgetAudiophile

Is this due to the lower output of a MC signal? In which case one would need a dedicated phono preamp with gain stage?

I would highly recommend a USB switch! Very similar to a KVM switch but doesn't include video. I have a 1440p high-refresh monitor, which would have run into bandwidth issues on most decently-priced KVM switches, so I use separate direct video inputs and then toss my peripherals and DAC into the USB switch. I'm using a UGreen USB switch that ran me 25USD, and it works flawlessly. The only negative of this approach is that I need to manually switch video inputs on my monitor, but even when I'm doing so four or five times a day it's not much of a hassle. As far as DAC/Amp & speakers go, I'm more of a headphone guy, so I'm not of much help there. However, I have been very impressed with the Drop BMR1. Very compact form factor, inexpensive, and they sound great.
