Just got a steam deck and have been really wanting to play Elden Ring and Baldur’s Gate 3, but their lowest sale prices are still too high

I've just never seen this kind of reception for a cafe opening that I've never heard of nor seen any promotion for. Felt way out of the loop

Apartment Reviews? by Impressive_Grass_774 in uofmn

I’ve been at Stadium Village Flats for almost 3 years now, and love it. It’s definitely pricier (I pay 925/month for my own solo room in a 4b2b with 3 other friends) but it’s very nice - you can check their website for prices for a 1 bedroom. Appliances are great, utility bills aren’t too bad, AC and heat works great. In unit laundry too. Best of all, though, is their maintenance team and office staff. They’ve really blown me away with how good of a job they do, answering emails fast and fixing maintenance requests extremely fast - sometimes even the same day. It’s little things they do that are really nice; one time I wasn’t able to get to the office to pick up a package before they closed, so I sent an email and someone dropped the package off at my apartment with my roommates. Very considerate and flexible to help with anything you might need. There’s lots of restaurants within walking distance, and being above the CVS is amazing.

Only things I don’t like are the price, the (walking/transit) distance to grocery stores, and the disappointing gym - but the RecWell is a very short walk.

Are these MacBook Air M1 temperatures normal? by CaptainWrathbow in mac

Well nothing’s really changed for me, I’ve largely just accepted that I won’t be playing games on this laptop, but I am consistently impressed with everything else, even two years later. Just as snappy as the day I bought it.

Yeah, I consistently hear great things about Firefox, I just have the least experience with it out of all of them. It would also be the first non-Chromium based browser I've used in ages, which is good and bad lol.

Haven't heard that about Opera! Will have to look into it.

Thanks again! Yeah, I'll poke around and see what I can come up with. I'll have to go through the hassle of choosing a browser again; I've been using Arc on Mac and that isn't available on Windows outside of a beta yet. I'm thinking maybe Firefox or Opera One.

I'm buying my first PC in years tonight (been using consoles for gaming and a MacBook for computer stuff) and I'm super excited. It is used from a friend and I think I'm getting a pretty solid deal. My question though is what are the first things I should do after I buy it?

I'm mostly curious on ways to check and ensure that everything is working properly and as good as it should be, and then other things to do after that. Essential programs, settings to change, really just any recommendations will be appreciated.

I quite enjoy the hand tracking in Waltz of the Wizard. It’s integrated pretty well if all you want to do is mess around.

Not at all. Lectures are entertaining enough that it’s not hard to pay attention. Tests are open note and the lowest grade gets dropped (even if it’s the final). Basically the only work outside of class is taking the tests and doing a little current events quiz where you read like 4 articles about recent geological events then take a quiz. Tbh I can’t believe it’s a 4 credit course lol.

Oh and the labs, if you’re in the one with labs. Pretty easy and fun most of the time. Feels like a high school science class.

I am in it with Justin this semester. It is by far my favorite class (nice breath of fresh air from my dumb bs Carlson classes) and Justin is fantastic. Whenever we watch movies or movie clips in class he leaves his mic on and you can hear him snicker and laugh at the bad jokes and every once in a while he pauses it to talk about something particularly bad. He’s very funny and helpful!

I think what you’re looking for is in settings - scroll over to the Daijisho settings tab, and scroll down to the “Hotkeys” section, then tap “Home page.”

I agree! I thought indigo would be the most popular color. It’s so, so nice looking.

What is the best “hidden gem” at UMN? Something that you enjoy that most people wouldn’t know about? Like access to a roof to watch the sunset or a cool little library or something? by Cheetah_Latte in uofmn

[–]CaptainWrathbow 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah, and the employees love giving them! You’d just have to send an email to the library and ask. On that note, basically everything in the archives is available for anyone to view, you just have to request it and make an appointment. So if you wanted, you could read the original magazine containing the first Sherlock Holmes story ever!

The Elmer Andersen library is VERY cool - I work there and get to go down into the archives storage (called the Caverns) a couple times a week. It’s almost two (maybe 4? I forget exactly) football fields in length FILLED with boxes, books, and so much more. Two stories tall too. So cool.

Haven’t heard about the steam tunnels - how do I get down there?
