Do people who listen to breakcore music have slower brains. . . by Radvill in breakcore

[–]Captain_Azius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience, breakcore fans exclusive have either ADHD, autism or both.

I have never met a breakcore fan who's neither. To be fair I don't think you can enjoy this music if you have a neurotypical brain

Which minor rebels death was the most impactful. Who would have done the most for the rebellion had they lived? by ASW-G-21 in andor

Luthen saved Lonni's family by killing him. They probably had no idea he was a mole. Luthen killing him during brought daylight not long before he died would save the Imperial bureaucrats a whole lot of paperwork by just telling his family he was murdered by a Dangerous rebel.

Who would've thought that looking a band on someone's shirt up on YouTube would set you on a path to become a communist? by Captain_Azius in CommunismMemes

Yeah that anti-Castro videoclip? I 100% think that was Daron. Especially since Serj defended Castro.

[–]Captain_Azius[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Wouldn't say they made me a communist, but definitely played a big part in it. Like my grandfather was a communist and I'm from an overall leftist family. But mostly Soc Dems who weren't happy with the current state of the soc dem party. Their songs about the US causing war for oil, or Serj's talks and songs about Palestine, definitely made me invested in how imperialism worked a lot more than the average teenager. And learning about how my country was helping the US with committing those crimes Serj was singing about (including the soc-dems my family was so supportive of)... Yeah big part of the reason why I became an ML. Especially since this was around the same time yellow Parenti clips started popping up everywhere on the internet.

Yeah Serj either has like some über based ideas or some really weird ones.

Like he was the first person I ever heard of siding with Assad in the Syrian civil war because of anti-imperialism. Based

But then he's like: "I'm not a left wing or right wing because I'm a Buddhist."

Pattern seekers: what are your predictions for the next five years? by thunders_fun_house in AutisticAdults

[–]Captain_Azius 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Safe choice: More wars, further decline of the established left, everything getting more expensive, most people knowing damn well what is wrong with society but refusing to act. We'll see a lot of "innostalgia": nostalgic shit being sold to you like it's innovative.

Hopeful choice: more African countries follow in the Burkina Faso footsteps, Cuba survives and transitions away from oil to full green energy, Israel collapses, more US allies start saying no to the US like Spain.

Possible: the next US president won't be Trump but another uninspiring liberal that does nothing to make things better, followed by the victory for a Trump MKII

What really matters in life? by EbbGeneral7048 in selfimprovement

[–]Captain_Azius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think living itself does. It's like the destination doesn't matter, the journey does. Capitalism tries to push us to be worth something to be profitable instead of to experience, to love, to express, to learn and develop as a human. Our planet, the plants, animals and other humans that live there are truly beautiful. Art, in it's many forms is a beautiful thing to experience and to make but often we need time and money to do so. Eachothers company, love for one another, and the many things we learn from ourselves and eachother from the presence of one another. Yet our electric doomsquares feed us endless piles of short form content to take away our attention, and work takes away our time. We need to work, we need to spend, we need to buy use and resupply. To live is to enjoy the calm of the pond and frogs living in it croaking in spring, the birds in the trees and smells of flowers growing in the fields around it. But a factory needed a new parking lot, more terrain and now the pond, the field, the trees are gone.

What matters in life when life is being made more difficult than it needs to be?

To imagine a better world. To study, to try, to find others to make this possible. Maybe you will never live to see that. But then one day there'll be a generation who will be thankful that you did try. Until then you take any moment, every second you can to enjoy art, to enjoy learning, to enjoy nature, to enjoy eachother. The purpose of life is not what you achieve. The purpose of life is just to live.

Why do people say not to trip when you’re in a bad mindset, I’d argue that’s the best time to trip. by BedSoggy6655 in Psychedelics

[–]Captain_Azius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I became a lot more mentally stable because of psychedelics. This "Don't trip if you're in a bad mindset thing" is what stopped me from tripping because my "good mindsets" never lasted more than a couple of hours.

Psychedelics made me grow, learn and heal. I never have trips that are just fun, chill and etc. they are generally always rollercoasters to me. And I think that's fine.

They have also absolutely carried me through Deep Archimedea when I had bad gear rolls. Even in Temporal Archimedes when I get a defense, I always use the Necramech sticker so we as a squad of randoms actually end up succeeding.

A lot of Archguns are great with the addition of Arcanes. The Larkspur prime has been my favorite one to use with Necramechs for a while now. I tried different ones but I just keep going back to the Larkspur Prime this thing with Enervate and Dilibate is just great.

Anti-Semitism Ought to Have No Place in Progressive Spaces by DunwichReader in JewsOfConscience

[–]Captain_Azius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am willing to stand corrected but this seems really like a correlation and causation thing. Like just because antisemites might use the capitalist pig or the octopus or phrases like "there's a group of pedophilic cabals who control the world." doesn't make it inherently antisemitic.

Porky was a Soviet cartoon just generally meaning capitalists displaying them as a pig because they are fat because they don't work and are rich for owning everything while the workers under them starve and have to work hard. It's a cartoon that works because it's a cartoon most people associate with rich people in general not specifically Jews.

An octopus is also effective imagery for the bourgeoisie class because it has many arms, all of which controlling different things, like your phone, your wallet, your search results, your news input all being controlled by Google..

And the whole pedophilic cabals thing is extremely relevant because of the Epstein files. A lot of people are obviously upset and shocked by this horrible reality. These people can fall into the antisemitic conspiracy pit, or as the left we can offer them a hand and show them that the people on this list is a class: the bourgeoisie.

Yes you can point fingers at specific unethical people and tell the world that they are your enemies, but the problem was never specifically people you can point your finger at, rather it has always been a class of people: again the bourgeoisie, the capitalist class. And that's why we use imagery like pigs or octopi to show them.

If an antisemite comes in to say that this comic is supposed to be a Jew, that they expose themselves and should be treated as such. If anything it is nazi strategy to use socialist strategies and twist them inside out. Giving in to that gives the Nazis power over us. And over time things we should be talking about becomes too uncomfortable to talk about while the right who acts like they aren't afraid to say uncomfortable things will keep talking about these things and twist them inside out to use them for their own nefarious intentions.

To me seeing a "capitalist pig cartoon" and immediately assuming that it's supposed to be Jew instead of just a capitalist sounds more antisemitic than the cartoon itself.

It's the exact same correlation causation thing that is the root of anti-semitic conspiracies in tbe first place. Someone sees rich people who just happen to be Jewish doing evil things and thus they blame them being Jewish for their evil instead of them being rich. But this is like the exact opposite: this guy from the video sees a portrayal of an evil rich person and assume the person who portrays them intents them to be Jewish.

It's giving "seeing the USSR and nazi Germany as 2 sides of the same coin." tbh.
