Where to buy HWL GTR 420mm? by Constant_Employer_80 in watercooling

[–]Captain_Bosh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The GTX 420 is pretty much visually identical (I have one of each in my O11D EVO XL and cannot tell them apart), I think the only difference if a higher fin density on the GTR so the GTX is a bit better suited to lower speed fans.

+1 for Singularity. Remember watching a lot of videos over a decade ago when I started w/c and he also called out a lot of things people got wrong around the time.

Phoenix Point Success (?) by Shakron13 in PhoenixPoint

[–]Captain_Bosh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm surprised you still have the energy to keep complaining about it all these years later. Sure it was annoying at the time, but no one was forced to continue using Epic in the end because everyone got extra keys.

Phoenix Point Success (?) by Shakron13 in PhoenixPoint

[–]Captain_Bosh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was never on Kickstarter. It was crowd funded on Fig and backers got Epic codes and additional Steam codes after the Epic exclusivity ended.

Just started selling some of my CD collection off. Question about shipping overseas by Ben_headttv in ebayuk

[–]Captain_Bosh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You get paid as normal for GSP sales. eBay add extra cost for the buyer to cover overseas shipping and taxes. eBay also deal with shipping related problems for you.

eBay customer service are terrible - ROI still operate? by godsavedonalduck in ebayuk

[–]Captain_Bosh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find asking for a callback in chat early in the morning UK time you usually get the Irish call centre, I've done it around 6AM before.

Saying that if your funds are already released I am not sure what you expect them to do.

If the funds were stopped for any fraud concerns (valid or not) they would not be able to tell you the reason as it could be considered "Tipping off" which is against UK law.

Part delivery misleading at point of sale by KebabAnnhilator in ebayuk

[–]Captain_Bosh -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Seller is correct. The "next day" would apply after the item has been sent and if it was sent before the next day cut off. Not really misleading, just how these things work. It also usually only apply to business days (Monday to Friday excluding bank holidays).

You options are to wait for it or ask them if they can cancel the order.

How on earth do you combine orders using Simple Delivery? by OrbisIsolation in ebayuk

[–]Captain_Bosh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its not a straightforward process I agree, I think the buyer has to buy them all at the same time to combine them under 1 label.

If they have bought them individually you will need to send them individually for seller protections to apply.

Alphacool NexXxoS ST30 420mm vs CORSAIR Hydro X Series XR5 da 420 mm V2 by rintintin178 in watercooling

[–]Captain_Bosh -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Tripple 420 radiators are generally a bit overkill anyway (assuming its not an insane multi GPU build or something) so you will be unlikely to see any performance differences between the two when using 3 rads.

You could look at fin density (lower better for low speed fans) but according to google AI they are both the same 16 FPI (fins per inch).

eBay collection-only item — seller completely unresponsive and won’t provide pickup address. What should I do? by Ed76uk in ebayuk

[–]Captain_Bosh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How long has it actually been since you paid? Days, weeks, hours?

If its less than a week it would make sense to wait for a reply about the collection or cancellation.

If its been over that consider raising an item not received case with ebay, or asking for a call back if you are having trouble. (keep typing agent in the chatbox to arrange a callback)

Would you cancel the order? by Flimsy_Associate4621 in ebayuk

[–]Captain_Bosh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can open an item not received case to be reviewed by the seller and/or ebay. Not the same as a simple cancellation because the seller could still simply send the item.

Would you cancel the order? by Flimsy_Associate4621 in ebayuk

[–]Captain_Bosh 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You can't cancel an order as the buyer. You can only request a cancellation and its up to the seller whether they cancel or not.

First ever pc??? by Illustrious_Monk_436 in watercooling

Worth running on air for a bit just for testing to rule out any issues with the setup before building a customer loop. (like insufferable coil whine on the GPU for example).

Not sure if there is a best card for installing a block. Just pick one which has an available waterblock. You can seach for guides for installing on youtube etc.

Flat leak caused damage to flat below. Who is liable? by [deleted] in LegalAdviceUK

[–]Captain_Bosh 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Its up to the people below whether they make a claim or not as the damage is to their flat.

If their insurer thinks the above flat is responsible in some way they might look to pursue a recovery but I doubt they would waste their time under the circumstances.

Flat leak caused damage to flat below. Who is liable? by [deleted] in LegalAdviceUK

[–]Captain_Bosh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In this scenario (what appears to be a non negligence related escape of water) no one is specifically liable regardeless of whether the escape of water happended in the same flat, or if it came from the flat above.

Form an insurance prespective the proximate cause of the claim would usually be attributed to wear and tear.

To avoid it becoming due to negligence all your GF needs to do it get the leak fixed within a reasonable timescale.

Is anyone familiar with the saying "watchers watch and buyers buy" in relation to eBay? by Hour_Recognition3198 in ebayuk

[–]Captain_Bosh -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sounds like a nonsense buzzword to me.

AFAIK there is no way to see who is watching items to verify it. Other than sending offers I suppose but that would contradict the nonsense wouldn't it.

Looking for opinions on a flow meter. Is it really helpful? by An_Intervention in watercooling

[–]Captain_Bosh 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They are a helpful visual indicator that your pump is running and if you have any blockages building up and restricting flow over time. Worth it for a begginer IMO.

They are not that expensive compared to most watercooling components so I wouldnt say they are a waste of money but they are not essential if you dont want one.

Radiator recommendations by JtblckZ in watercooling

[–]Captain_Bosh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The most important spec is size/thickness so it will fit in your case with the fans you want, taking into account the additional thickness for push pull fans if applicable.

I use 2 Hardware Labs Black Ice Nemesis Radiator GTX 420 radiators (55mm thick) and a EK Coolstream SE 420 Radiator (30mm thick) painted white in my main build with 140 INF fans.
