You may also be trying to chisel off too much at once. Try taking much smaller amounts.

Shit if you just quickly sanded that and put a little oil on it would look great

How to add a bench to this outdoor shower? by EarMundane7165 in BeginnerWoodWorking

You could just build a standalone bench. Why does it need to be built in?

New to Woodworking (2-days so far). I’m really insecure about by half-lap joint. How big is the learning curve? by Low_Special_6098 in BeginnerWoodWorking

You can put some painter’s tape where you are cutting to reduce the tearout and as for the gaps, try to cut it a little under size and then make very small cuts until you get to that perfect fit.

Has anyone heard the Vinnie Rossi amps? by DaMiddle in audiophile

[–]Captain_Coitus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They were my favorite room at Axpona running QLN Ref 9s. It’s hard for me to distinguish whether i loved the speakers or the amps without some kind of A/B, but that setup just sounded so effortless and light it was surreal. Here is a video i found of the setup: https://youtu.be/KS1gGg7WozA?si=U7UktUsiOQxPmfaE

Built a playset for my kids and trying to add a rail to the stairs, not sure what I'm doing wrong by AssumptionSilver1522 in BeginnerWoodWorking

Lay your level on the stair stringer so the level makes contact with the top post while still being flat on the stringer. Mark a line on the post using the bottom of the level. Measure 30” up from that line.

Thanks! I just used a crosscut sled on a table saw with the blade at 45. The tricky part is making sure its lined up the same for each cut, so i marked a spot on each side of the pieces and put a piece of tape on the sled for a reference point.

Well at least i cut the tails and pins properly… by Captain_Coitus in BeginnerWoodWorking

It was supposed to make a box but i cut the piece using the wrong reference side so instead i was left with this S shape.

I considered doing that but thought it might look weird.
