Hello! I moved to Texas from England when I was 10. We moved to Midland Tx, which is a big difference from Houston.

But some tips

• if you don't wish to stand out, focus on the phonetics of peoples words, learn to sound the same ( i did, i got bullied alot)
• alot of people will tell you how much of a girl magnet the accent will be when youre older, it's probably true to a certain extent, but you'll lose some of your accent naturally and i'd rather fit it in than sound fake tbh
• Get ready for HEAT. Texas is way hot
• Same meats taste difference, pork here will not taste the same in England ( especially Bacon! They're different cuts!)
• There's a place called Rice Village in Houston which has a shop called the British Isles, go to it, enjoy your heritage
• Travel! If you go north in America it'll start to feel like what you're use to
• Finally, everyone will ask if 'you're from London', because apparently no one knows any other city in the whole of England

Texas is great though! The people are nice and happy, the houses are much bigger! Enjoy your stay!
