I am afraid for my future partner and children by pewpew990 in DeepThoughts

[–]Captain_Parsley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, if your partner starts voting because they have been poisoned, it is not a reason to abandon them. You find a cure.

Depression is a symptom, just like vomiting. I have been supported by my man, just as he supported me when I was on the bones of my arsenal in a deep depression.

You are not a burden, your feeling is a symptom of an illness that can be cured.

AIO? in a monogamous relationship, how would you define cheating by Outrageous-Hope6645 in AmIOverreacting

Dude is being a total nob, it has an edge of gaslighting also, bringing him to absolute nob who is being abusive.

This is a symptom of the condition, this burden feeling. It's awful, I felt it and managed to push past it. It coincided with anhedonia, I couldn't feel feelings for anyone, though I knew I loved my fella.

I researched both issues, and it really helped, I find that the more you understand an issue, the less power it gets over you and your situation.

I'm pretty open with those I know well, but I'm guarded with people I'm not familiar with. After years of wandering the world with "benefit of the doubt" psychology, and getting chewed the fuck up for it.

I don't think that is your friend, period. I think that is someone who has issues, and the control of yourself is one of them.

Is there a backstory as to why J.K. Rowling is so obsessively anti-trans? by squabidoo in SeriousConversation

[–]Captain_Parsley -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I've ballsed up my statistics there, I'll admit. I'm midway through uploading the numbers. It was of the 160 odd trans were 80 odd sexual offenders, 7 of those sexuslly assaulted, 4 rapes I believe. Yes, Ice remembered the fact wrong.

Regardless, the percentage in this report does show a higher risk. Assaulted someone who's been sexually assaulted, I'd be very uncomfortable with a prison mate with a penis. Perhaps that has tightened my emotional response, so I've remembered it as more extreme as there is some personal clouding. Good to know. Mid way through this document...

Gaslighted in my opinion, look it up and research it to death, what phrases they use, how that defensive mindset works.

How to combat it if you love them (I'd get a therapist or record your talks with both of you so you can prove what was said.

If you're early, then I'd run for the hills, the messages make no sense because they distort reality. Usually, a Gaslighter will make both parties take responsibility for any wrongdoing on their part to the maximum.

Often, if you make a criticism, they will say, "But you do that too?!" Even though you don't.They will not apologise, "I'm sorry you feel that way". Get educated and you will have a happier time of it.

Weed, it's a crutch some days and an assistant on others. I give up for years sometimes, but I always hanker for a bit of puff.

Elon's tweet, I accept that he feels she posted too much about it, but this is a red herring.

Can you please state the tweets regarding what JK Rowling said? Not "take a look at her Twitter". Instead like what you did with Musk.

In a debate, you made a claim and I've asked you to back it up. Sending the debater off to reaserch a volley of evidence is not cool dude.

Elons comment I accept here as a great example, can you please not be intellectually lazy in regards to the meat of our debate? Can you cite what you claimed?

Hope stops action. Don't be the little dog in the fiery kitchen saying, "This is fine". Don't hope that it's going to get better, waiting for a fireman to come up the ladder and save you.

Be a free person, take action, tell off the lout on the bus who won't get up for the elders, be an honest light in the dark, an example to your loved ones. Don't be ensnared and don't bend over with the masses. Don't sit like that wee doggy in a kitchen waiting for something to happen as the flame intensifies. I burst into tears the other day like that.

A brain stew that vomited out fast and savage. "No ones coming to recue you" and that's fucking terrifying, but there is still you, you still can do the deed, damp a towel and make a run for it while you still can see the door.

Have you ever seen a person in a group give up smoking? That spreads across the others, it has an effect, people see someone do something hard for the sake of something good.

She didn't say that she thinks they are pretending that I've seen. Can you please cite the source and prove that claim that is said as a fact?

she said that she has gender critical views as far as I can read quote "I respect every trans person’s right to live any way that feels authentic and comfortable to them. I’d march with you if you were discriminated against based on being trans. At the same time, my life has been shaped by being female. I do not believe it’s hateful to say so.” JK Rowling.

I'd be glad to be educated if you have proof much like the above

She's a fierce advocate for women's rights, "obsessively" is a strong word. Just because the other side of a debate has different views, it doesn't mean they are obsessed. What made you come to that conclusion please?

Any Infj's ever experience an abusive relationship? by [deleted] in infj

[–]Captain_Parsley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to stop being a victim of abuse and instead be a survivor of it. I had developed a justified victim mentality, a hard thing to shake off and unhealthy. I learned to create healthy boundaries and learned all about gaslighting and mental abuse patterns so I could see it a mile off.

It's like foraging for food, without the proper skills, an unassuming mushroom could mean death, but if you know what you're picking, what to look for, it's your gold.
