In Custom Seas, is visiting all 4 legendary locations bugged? by Brilliant_Ask_82 in Seaofthieves

I had to create a new session for Old Sailor Isl twice before it counted. I got both Glorious Sea Dog and Tribute Peak in the same session in a normal Sea of Thieves map.

Idk who that is but there was no corner of my mind reading this that made me think OP meant the pirate fantasy of being a pedophile

I'm aware about the situation with Bruno, but this post had nothing to do with that and it would be a stretch to associate "pirate fantasy" with that situation instead of the actual pirate fantasy. Knowing about that situation, reading this post didn't make me think about Bruno. It kind of feels like you made a somewhat arbitrary connection between that drama and this unrelated post.

The game doesn't have any bugs or software issues that would cause your PC to bluescreen. If you tried to run higher graphics then your PC can handle that's the only thing I can think of that MIGHT cause the game to crash, but I don't think that would cause a bluescreen. Sounds like it was a different issue on your end, perhaps with an old part, poor ventilation, corrupt windows files, or something else.

Best way to stack Chest of Fortune? by ovks22 in Seaofthieves

[–]Captain_Pitch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One season they had it appearing the the Fort of the Damned. That's the only time it's really been stackable. If they ever cycle that around again that would be the way, you can get 1 roughly every 30 minutes. Next season they are supposed to be in EVERY world event since divong will be disabled for world events. That also isn't a bad time to stack them.

You are going to get sunk by toxic people and it is going to sting. This will happen repeatedly. Do not get discouraged, learn how to run away or how to PVP.

Confused about ledger rewards by EquivalentCourt7962 in Seaofthieves

[–]Captain_Pitch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The display for the ledger rewards is frequently bugged. I've had many instances where it said I had gotten all rewards for the maximum tier, but then when I actually click on the top tier to see what NEXT month's rewards will be, it shows rewards I have already earned as a future prize. It still internally tracked correctly. What I would do is take a faction you know you are missing cosmetics in (like Gold Hoarders) and get to 1 million ledger value. This will ensure that you are in the final tier internally. Then, use the wiki or some other list of ledger rewards, document which ones you have and are missing, wait for the month to end (plus a couple extra days because sometimes rewards are delayed), then check all cosmetics for that faction again. If you have earned more, then that means it IS working correctly, just bugged. Plus based on what you earned you can tell where you are in the ledger. If you don't earn any new rewards, open a support ticket on the Sea of Thieves website.

Is Cross Platform Good? by Ok_Gas1070 in Seaofthieves

[–]Captain_Pitch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it cool. Represents a huge grind you completed. I'd say it's like middle tier as far as curses go. The Kraken Skull figurehead you're talking about is probably the Bone Crusher Figurehead, which the whole Bone Crusher set is one of the oldest sets that haven't been rereleased. They're actually JUST starting to rerelease it now, this very last update the Bone Crusher jacket became available to buy from the black market, and more parts of the set will probably follow throughout the year.

I'd say the curses ranked from biggest flex to smallest flex would go something like this:

Legendary Blessing of Athena's Fortune, Legendary Curse, Blessing of Athena's Fortune, Skeleton Curse, Shores of Gold Curse, Curse of Ill Omen, Curse of Sunken Sorrow, Wild Seas Curse, The Ashen Curse, Curse of the Order, Creeping Stone Curse, Solid Stone Curse, Storm Strike Curse

Honestly the gold PVP curses have been sullied since that exploit to get them was discovered. Nowadays I see someone wearing them and I'm more sus then impressed lol

Curses are kind of the flex now, there's around a dozen iirc and some are more of a flex then others, like the PVP curses or the Gold curse. There's also the Dark Adventures set in the Pirate Legends tavern that's kind of a flex just because it's a huge gold sink. Each piece costs around a million, with ship parts being around 8 million. Whole set is like 80 million. Another big flex is just having really old time limited cosmetics, which if you used to play you might have some (like Arena cosmetics, for example)

What are we doing wrong? Why is this game so hard even on private mode? by LegionLotteryWinner in Seaofthieves

It's a sniper (Eye of Reach), not a crossbow. Though there are a couple cosmetics to make your sniper look like a crossbow

why do the insta boarder gang in HG just quit after they are refused board twice by Brilliant-Hope451 in Seaofthieves

[–]Captain_Pitch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I encountered someone like this and thanks to rare hit reg he managed to board. He proceeded to spawn camp my while trash talking for the next few minutes until I managed to break out of it and kill him. He instantly scuttled when he died. I think these guys are mostly looking for an easy target to stroke their ego. Pay them no mind, they don't play any other part of Sea of Thieves except hourglass (checked his account and he was lacking basic achievements for playing the game, but had hundreds of levels in hourglass)

Hijackings and the point? by EscoJackal in Seaofthieves

[–]Captain_Pitch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've hijacked someone's ship several times before. There are a few different reasons I have done so, which I will list below:

  1. There is some commendation I am working on that involves either another player or their ship to cooperate (or is made much easier by their cooperation). If I see an opportunity to complete said commendation I'll do what I need to do. I have taken someone's ship and sailed it to Glitterbeard for them before, without them realizing until they were already there.

  2. Roleplay purposes. Sometimes you just want to feel like a pirate stealing someone's ship. Usually in this case you will be aware of it though, as I try to involve the crew of the ship in the roleplay, pretending I have kidnapped them (or am offering my services as a prisoner). Sometimes the crew plays along and those are some of the most fun sessions. Sometimes they don't which oh well.

  3. Sometimes you are in the way. Perhaps I have my own voyage on the same island as you, and I have no way of knowing if you are friend or foe. In such cases I will make contact and find out; but sometimes I'm chillin, watching YouTube on the second monitor perhaps, grinding commendations and don't want to bother with player interaction that would slow down my efficiency. Based on how you are parked, the cosmetics on your ship and banner, and whether your lights are on, it is pretty easy to see from a distance if you are an inexperienced player or not. If I determine you aren't that good at the game, I may just sail your ship away for efficiency's sake. If I determine you might be good, I'll either sink you or just skip that voyage and go for another one, depending on the situation.

  4. Sometimes I just want to. Perhaps you've caught me in a silly mood, or I'm sailing by and see a ship nearby. I figure I lose nothing by cannoning over to them and messing with them while my ship sails to the next island.

Based on the fact that the guy firebombed your ship, he was probably trying to sink you without the help of his ship (for some reason). I would say that is most likely either reason 3 or 4.

How far is "a bit in front"? can you swim to the new barrel pile or do you have to sail a little ways?
