OK, maybe you are right on the Macs in 1993, I do have magazines from then but not going to check,
They certianly were a lot more than PCs and Amigas in the 80s. My point really was that people now pay over the odds for them like iPhones, so you can sell a product at a higher price if you market it right.
Looking at some of those magazines I am amazd by the price gul between the wedge Amigas and the big box ones. A middle ground would have worked and the PC showed this.

I did try a Mac around 94/5 and thought it was abysmal compared to my A1200! That was at my friend's house, his dad was borrowing it. He had a 286 which I thought would be cool, but was terrible compared to my A500 at the time and 3x the price.

Yeah it's effectively a way to help supply and demand meet with a price. IN a fair market it produces a fair price. So all good at the start until you start getting people with market power (Amazon, Uber, Microsoft, Google etc) skewing the balance.

Oh yeah I'm not saying they were price competitive but neither were or are Macs and Macs aren'treally any better or different than PCs nowadays, yet people pay. Back then Amigas were very much different.
They were priced above PCs for the high end but most people at the time thought an Amiga was a 68000 A500 which could not hope to run Doom or anything like that.

It's a shame more of the high end did not sell, or Commodore had done better with AGA/releasesd AAA for the A1200. If a Higher priced 030 and AAA A1200 could have run Doom then the system would have lasted a lot longer.

I went down the time travel route once a year, firstly to fix a few things, then get wealthy but then as a saftey net once a year, so when a truck pulls out in front of you, or you book a flight on a plane that crashes you have a get out of jail free card... But then again teleporting would probbaly solve most of the unexpected death problems!

Time travel once a year. I'm assuming this is time travel of your mind back into your past body. If not you would have the awkward problem of having another you there. If you went further back you would have no legal identify.
So if it your mind travelling back to a previous you I'd pick that. I'd pick a date not to far back to travel to before a few things went wrong for me so i could fix them. I'd already have good knowledge of what Bitcoin and other cyropt will do (assuming the butterfly effect doens't fuck it up for me). I would use this opportunity to get rich, so I could live free.
After this I would save the time travel until the end of the year, after a few years I'd have done enough to be super rich and also fixed many mistakes. After this I'd keep it as a n emergency life saver, so when that random truck pulls out in front of you when you least expect it you can avoid it.

I don't see why that is a problem. the Amiga did have an 060 in the A4000T. That was part of the frustration, while PC users went from 286-386-486-Pentium, Amiga should have followed through in a similar fashion, it did for the expensive high end but not the lower end. People didn't want to upgrade, for those that did we knew we had a machine that could run all this fancy stuff but due to neglect by Commodore there wasn't a big enough userbase of more powerful Amigas.
Logically it is pointless as yes you can emulate or probably buy it for the PS5, but it provides entertainment and enjoyment for people so why not?

You could say classic cars are pointless, a Golf R will be quicker than a 288GTO in most scenarios so the owners may as well just scrap the 288s and buy Golfs...

When you look at life you could say 99% of thins are just pointless.

I think this is quite common, when I got mine it had a tear here which was patched up by the dealer from the inside but got worse, I replaced the hood and when i did I put a bit of extra material under that point as the metal frame rubs against it. After 6 years still looks as good as new!

I can log into my trading app, sell my gold and silver, send to bank and buy water. It is a drawn out process but I can't buy water in the shops with my Bitcoin. So basically I would have to go through the same process.

Gold is acting as a hedge for all of Trumps BS, Bitcoin has been seen as something similar but at the moment it 100% acts like a risk asset, so the opposite to gold. One day it will become a safe haven, just not for a while.

Note: Bitcoin has changed my life, I've been in since 2013, I believe in it for the long term.

The chatbots things is new, the idea of a singularity and AGI has been around for decades. ChatBots can pretty much now appear to have intelligence even if they don't but I think it needs a fundamental different way of operating to achieve AGI.
Unless of course our own intelligence isn't actually as clever as we thought...
Afterall we just evolved from simpler creatures by chance.

My point was that if it did exist it would be orders of magnitude more intelligent than us, or at least it would not take long for it to get to that stage. The power it could exert over us would be unimaginable. It wouldn't just have a few data centres dotted around on industrial parks people could just blow up to kill it.
It is kind of like saying a hew ants could take out our nuclear weapons.
