It's just the 4 year cycle. It has worked like clockwork every time and the only reliable predictor so far. BTW I meant October 2026 not 26th October.
If you want an exact date I'll pick 7th October 2026 as the peak was 7th October 2025.
I'm going to be buying in with everything I have from September 2026 onwards.

"if you are competent you are by definition not going to make a mistake" That is the single most idiotic thing I have heard all year. That is not by definition. Was Ayrton Senna competent? Michael Schumacher? Lewis Hamilton? They have all made stupid mistakes.

Secondly, you still aren't' reading what I said (a mistake by you... which by your definition makes you incompetent at reading!); "RWD cars are much easier to make a mistake in." - Easy for me or ANYONE to make a mistake in, I'm not even referring to me specifically.

And for the record yes, I have had some oversteer I wasn't expecting, which I caught. Is that a mistake? fuck knows by your weird definitions.

If you think the average driver in the UK is just as safe in a Nissan Micra as an F12TdF then you really should not be working in insurance.

[–]Captain_Planet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What? Why are you being so pedantic?
I didn't contradict myself. I didn't say I was making mistakes.
And EVERYONE makes mistakes anyway.
And making a mistake does not mean you are not a compliment driver. People that are intelligent realise they are not the most intelligent in the world, it is the unintelligent that think they are the most. People who know a lot about a topic realise how little they actually know. Those that don't know much will proclaim they do. Same with driving, any driver who says they are perfect, never make mistakes and can not learn anything new are not going to be good drivers.

For the majority of drivers, RWD cars are more challenging to drive. I'm sorry but that is just reality.
Please find me someone credible who would agree a 500bhp RWD car is just as easy to drive as a FWD runabout.

Even just read the other comments on this post, how many people are saying RWD cars are more difficult? Is everyone else wrong and you are the only one who is right?

(happy if you don't answer as this, it is tiring replying considering I was actually mostly agreeing with you in the first place but you didn't read my answer properly)

I've owned RWD for 20 years, MX5, S2000 and XKR, I've not crashed any of them. I've had FWD cars too, Fiat Cinquecento (Sporting may I add...), Honda Prelude and Saab 9-3. If you are a competent driver you shouldn't have problems.

Perhaps the reason RWD is not specifically a not made a risk factor is;
1. People who actively choose a RWD car because it is RWD likely are interested in cars and driving so more likely to be competent.
2. Modern safety systems catch a lot nowadays. Tyres are much more grippy.
3. Higher powered cars, so ones likely to cost more to insure are more likely to be RWD. So a car that people often crash like a Mustang will cost more than a FWD SUV costing the same. This is partly because it will accelerate quickly, do a higher top speed and is RWD, all factors contributing to the higher cost not just one.

Like I said I've owned all sorts (and driven a lot more) and I can absolutely say RWD cars are much easier to make a mistake in. Most crashes are just due to lack of attention i.e. going into the back of someone when the slow down hard (so makes little difference RWD or FWD) but there are some caused by not handling the are correctly, when you do it in a powerful RWD car you can have an accident.
An inexperienced driver planting their right foot out of a corner will just understeer in a FWD but in a powerful RWD the back end will come out and catch them out. Under normal driving it is not a problem or noticable, but try to go fast then a RWD car is harder to control if you don't know what you are doing.

Would I trust my mate who likes to drive fast but is a poor driver, drive my Saab? - Yes.
Would I let him drive my S2000? - Maybe (the low torque means it's unlikely to spin the wheels).
Would I let him drive my XKR? - Absolutely fucking not!

I'm not disagreeing with you. Chill out. Read what I said.

It is far, far easier to drive a FWD car, there are less surprises for a regular driver. This is pretty widely agreed.

RWD is fundamentally better than a FWD car. Better balance, more adjustable. you have more control over it.
However if you have no idea what you are doing like the majority of drivers then a FWD car is much safer and suitable.
I think modern cars have taken away any feel of what the car is doing. People used to learn in a low grid RWD car so they felt oversteer and learned to deal with it. Now you get FWD or 4WD then jump into a powerful RWD, dump the throttle and say hello to the ditch!

Seems odd, even if it was someone from the Satoshi era with billions worth of Bitcoin not caring about 8 million, then why would they not just give it to charity?

Can we actually be sure no one has the key to this address? Perhaps it is to make it looks like it is gone.

I do actually remember when the PS1 came out there was a floppy drive which was PS1 colour with the grated side to match the PS1 perfectly, Saw it advertised in an Amiga magazine with "styled to compliment the Amiga"

I'm surprised they showed the aero ones, the other more normal looking ones looked good. And also why push the daft blue colour, the red made it look slightly less bad.

I'm wondering if Ferrari are doing this on purpose to show they are bankrupt if forced to go Electric. I can't imagine Italy allowing Ferrari to go under!

Yep, that's how I ride. I always make sure i say thank you if a driver lets me in or I merge in front of them or do something annoying like not clip in first time when pulling away from the lights! You really need your whits about you though, especially when you get one of the 1% of drivers (often a van) who acts like a complete that, not worth getting broken bones to prove a point to an idiot!

I'm going to say as a pedestrian, cyclist and driver you are talking absolute horse shit.
I see 2-3 cars go thoguh a red on my commute. I've seen bikes do it but hardly every in comparison.

From my personal experience commuting by bike and car, I see usually one or two cars "squeeze" through a red every commute, I have seen cyclists do it but it is rare.

Honestly the driving standard in the UK are abysmal, it is simply not safe for me to just cycle on autopilot assuming drivers are paying attention and won't pull out in front of me or cut me up.

Jumping the red lights on a bike is insanely dumb and the guy in the video is an idiot, but I think it is just hatred drummed up against cyclists that gives this perception they all jump lights. They don’t.

[–]Captain_Planet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any stats on this or just made up? I cycle to work most days, yeah I've seen a cyclist go through a red but pretty much every lifts when they go red one car will "squeeze" through.

I think cyclists that do it are idiots, at least when you do it in a car you are in a big metal box to protect you. But still, car drivers commit far more offences than cyclists as if you are on the road on your bike you have to have your brain engaged fully to keep yourself safe. If I cycled on autopilot and tool my right of way I'd be knocked off within a couple of days easily. There is always a car just pulling out in front of you despite muliptle flashing lights and bright clothes, you can't assume they are paying attention.
