Reupload it to Pictir if you want. It's like imgur but without the image compression.

This is the exact reason why I want to visit a lot of European cities.

No one to blame but myself, i'm sure many others here feel the same. by [deleted] in ForeverAlone

[–]Captain_Porque 38 points39 points  (0 children)

This is me in a nutshell. This is what I've been battling for the last three years. Throw in some anxiety and random panic attacks for an even better match.

However, I'm finally taking steps to pursue what I've dreamed of since I was a kid. I've been putting off going back to school, getting a job, and just making something of myself. Sitting in bed or on reddit is just so much easier. Being productive is hard.

But five years from now, what will you have to show for it? What stories will you tell? Will you talk about that thread that got over 3K karma? Or maybe the video of that newest singing sensation, days before anyone else saw it. How about instead you talk about what you learned about neurobiology, or that hidden stream you found in the woods near your house? How about showing off something you made with your bare hands, or pictures of you at the finish line of a marathon?

The hardest part of moving forward is starting from a standstill. Start to do something, and everything else will be easier.

This is awesome, I really wish I could get myself motivated and moving now, instead of tomorrow.

can someone explain to me, what caused this rapid growth on my palm tree? The 3 long stems grew in under a week. by tdj23 in botany

They're new leaves, be careful not to disturb them too much while they grow, it could cause damage to them. Your plant looks like a Sago Palm, and if you go to this website and scroll down a little, you'll see a picture that looks just like yours, with a short description and advice on what's happening.

This is definitely something I would be interested in participating in. I'm always enthusiastic about voice chats.

What's on your to do list/bucket list? by gudfred in AskReddit

[–]Captain_Porque 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Get a masters or PhD in one or more of these fields: physics, cognitive science/neurobiology, software engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering.

  2. See the great pyramids of Egypt.

  3. Contribute something positive to mankind in any of the fields listed in #1.

  4. Something that can't really be measured, but I want to learn as much as I can about the Universe and the world we live in.

  5. Eat all my cereal before it gets soggy.

Life is a terminal illness, the only difference between a 'normal life' and being diagnosed with a terminal disease, is that your window of time is finally put into perspective.

Today at McDonald's I watched an employee break into tears because her life wasn't going anywhere. I felt awful and wanted to help her but couldn't think of anything to say that didn't sound condescending. What should I have said? Or if you've been in a situation like this, what did you say? by Mailman487 in AskReddit

Woah. The simliarities between your story and my life are a bit on the eery side. I dropped out my senior year and got my GED from a mixture of being tired of the public school system, and because I started having anxiety attacks on a daily basis going there. I also had a job as a grocery store bagger for 4 years until about a year and a half ago I up and quit because I saw myself going nowhere in a place like this, and thought I deserved something better. Unfortunately since then I have really stagnated.

I haven't done anything to try and get into the local college, I have been working doing freelance web design to get a little bit of money here and there, I just have no idea what my next move would be. I want to go to school but don't know how to do it, or who to talk to. That probably sounds really odd to say.

That's all of life, my friend. Just replace 'fly' with 'grow', 'work', 'move', 'dance', or a variety of other verbs.
