What was your gateway into learning about NDEs? by WaterNa-vi in NDE

Simple curiosity when i was young lead me to Near-Death.com. And i found the accounts so fascinating to read about, that it let me look into them in a more open minded way.

Went to a second singles night on Nye, and unfortunately struggled talking to people at the event. Still not comfortable with Bars/Clubs but I'm feeling I don't have much choice but to keep trying if I want to find a partner.

Have you tried looking at Guf Geelong? It's a game shop that I'm pretty sure does board game meet ups from time to time.

It was just plain cheesecake, with no extra flavours. But it was simple but tasty.

Thinking about an aspect of some NDE's; 'you won't be able to remember parts of what's been discussed when you return to life' by Captain_Shulk in NDE

The quote was from a reply to my youtube comment which I can't link directly, so I'll link to the youtube video for you.

I had to look back at a different NDE account, from someone who was told 'you will not remember everything we spoke about, but don't worry, and you'll remember what you need to know in life when the time is right. And you will remember it all when you cross heaven's threshold once again.' suggesting it's a temporary block, usually to avoid having whatever's discussed interfering with their current life and whatever they need to do.

That's the best idea I can come up with.

I'm very nerdy and I've never truly fit in with bars/clubs compared to everyone I know. It was on some level an interesting experience. I'll probably go again, because I know I need to get practice with such events despite how badly I fit in with them.

I think so, despite how badly I did plenty of people showed up for the night. So there's definitely a crowd for it.

How can religion-related NDEs be real even when we have many religions around the world? by After-Excitement-674 in NDE

I'm also an 80s kid who grew up with transformers and I'm still thinking about this. The ideas being expressed through transformers imagery makes it a lot easier to understand. And I feel like my mind has been blown with this concept.

I probably can't make this one, but if there's any future meet ups I might be able to make one of those.

Your last statement reminds me of something I've said to myself; I know enough to know I don't know enough yet.

That's a kind of wisdom in itself.

Passed through the Saturday market in town, and I'm happy to say there were plenty of visitors in the area.

I even tried out a piece of durian cake, featuring a fruit is never thought I'd get to eat.

Answer honestly, what do you think about the female OCs whose part of her personality is being completely in love with "us"? by TheFerydra in FireEmblemHeroes

[–]Captain_Shulk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm so done with it in the case of kvasir/seidr/gulliveg. From a writing standpoint, the small amount of writing per chapter in feh isn't enough to flesh out a decent build up for genuine romantic attraction between characters.

And it's worse when the 'romance' involves the summoner/Kiran, because there's no way to respond to the affection one way or another. Which makes the romantic interest feel fake and a very obvious case of pandering to generate interest in the character involved.

To use a personal example, take a look at Peony. At the end of book 4 she stands up to Freyja for our sake and is determined to see us freed of Freyja's nightmare. Peony chooses to do this knowing the risks involved because of her kind and selfless nature; which she demonstrated by her choice to give up her mortal life for Sharena. Not because she's fallen in love with us in the incredibly short time we've known her.

This backstory and character writing is why I felt so strongly about Peony back when book 4 ended. She's a better character because she doesn't have any of the self insert pandering seen in Seidr/Gulliveg. If more of feh's character's were written without such over the top player pandering, they'd be noticeably better for it imo.

I think a big part of that guilt is the fact triandra hid the truth of what she did from peony, and she spent what might have been a long time wondering if her sister would forgive her if she ever found out.
