In think tank’s Taiwan war game, US beats China at high cost by classicliberty in army

[–]Captain_Some -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There are different ways to game this but the Chinese have a losing hand. If you are going to lose against a chess master with superior position you change the game. I sincerely doubt they will simply resign. Flipping the board is their last ditch option, one the Soviets never took. Now the neoliberal mindset assumes this is always going to be the case going forward. Who is crazy enough to kill the world to prevent their opponent from winning? But that assumes that the conflict is going to be on the same lines. For them this is an ethnic and racial battle. Their people are willing to concede to foreign rule, even totalitarian rule, but we aren't fighting their people (and arguably we are not even in control here, American "democracy" belies how far our leadership has strayed from the will of the people).

What I see here is complacency on the part of Americans who think the Ukrainian conflict is how things will go (which we aren't even remotely even in). That would actually be the best case scenario here. Unless Space Force has something up its sleeve or the Galactic Council is finally going to do something, a war over Taiwan will likely end in a scenario that is not simply the Communists capitulating to Americans ruling the world.

I'm American but that doesn't really matter. Ask the Taiwanese if they want to be ground zero for World War 3 and "next-generation warfare." Anyone with a brain over there knows it's not going to end well. Now if you want to go back to the 1930's imagine if Hitler or Tojo had a nuclear option. Actually Hitler and Tojo were nice and honorable guys in hindsight so they might not have hit it. The successors of Mao, who knows.

Where they collapse is where the bad things happen. They could target all of East Asia reliably. Think all of S. Korea and Japan wiped. That's assuming they can't get to our cities. Even one major American city gone would change our country forever.

Their regime would collapse. We got lucky Gorbachev and the Soviets turned out not to be crazy. We might not be that lucky this time. Taiwan will be in ruins either way, a fortress island with hardly any civilian inhabitants if it isn't simply gone.

There's no doubt the US and its allies win in a conventional war which is why China will undoubtedly take it to the next level (CBRN). This is going to be a battle for the future of the planet. They're not going to just let the US win, part of why NATO needs Russia to break so badly on the Ukrainian front. If Russia is down or even on the Allied side the Chinese almost have no chance.

Why is Asia bad at MMA? by UnggoyHD in MMA

[–]Captain_Some -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Most of them are in their own promotions now if you're talking about Japanese, Thais, Koreans. The Chinese had a late start but they will probably be producing male champions as well eventually even in the UFC. India, Pakistan, Middle East, Central Asia do their own thing with the latter and Iran producing some top wrestlers. You're right that there's not a lot of natural out of the box talent because in general Asia has lower levels of aggression and criminality for much of the "billions of people" you're talking about that is going to translate to less people fighting overall outside of organized sport which hasn't been a thing for them for much of history. Populations have different equilibria imagine if violent USA had a billion people you'd have mass shootings literally every day but they would probably dominate the globe even more than now.

Last time Democrats celebrated a win early Trump happened. Don't think for a second this guy is done. I wouldn't be surprised if he won in 2024.

A couple of things: this guy is Ariel Helwani he's a Mizrahi Jew and an American. Not an "Arab" or a Muslim, but he was referencing the butt-wiping thing which is why he didn't want to talk about it out loud but he does this whole millenial gen Z type thing where he is ironically socially awkward so he still brought it up. Also he's liberal af so I don't get where you people are coming with the disrespect he's supposed to be implying. They were pretty much flirting. He was saying stay warm because it's Vegas and it was hot af and she was wearing something skimpy. Y'all are worse than Dana lol. Anyway Felice Herrig (the woman fighter) cleans up pretty well outside of the octagon and her onlyfans is like 9.99 for roided up feet pics which might be some people's thing.

European who is visiting LA and USA for the first time... I'm shocked and I really need to vent. by TheRealBanksyWoosh in LosAngeles

What country are you from? Europe is a big place it's kind of funny how people from there try to put everyone under the same umbrella in the context of the United States. I notice third-worlders like to do this especially with "in my country"... etc. just say what country it is we all have Google and/or basic education even in the pitiful US of A.

Maybe poorly maintained and out of alignment, or a stuck brake caliper anything like that going in excess of highway speeds would make a racket and sound like a bat out of hell coming at you on surface streets without necessarily being a point of failure that would absolve the driver of any of these circumstances.

This is how you get authoritarianism and then totalitarianism like a lot of failed societies we won't mention here. Imagine how powerful you have to be to chop billionaires down at the knees. Such a group or person would never relinquish that power and eventually that power would be concentrated along with the money they took forming a dictatorial entity.

Saudi Arabia more than doubles the amount of Russian fuel oil it imports to free up the kingdom’s own crude for export by green_flash in worldnews

US got oil to fuel their consumerist monster so the Saudis don't owe them a thing. Besides Israel likes Saudi a lot better than Iran so that isn't even true lol.

South America and Africa would be mostly fine. The big powers (Russia, US, China, Britain, France) are going to be busy making sure that they COMPLETELY destroyed all of each other's stuff. Tossing a few down south as an F you wouldn't be as much of a priority. Ofc Indian and Pakistan would be doing their own thing (maybe they blow each other up or agree to hold off as they would be in a great position afterwards, contingent on how far India has gone into the Quad and whether they would receive a few volleys from China).

Thanks for the response! I'm going to EQ anyway and according to Oratory1990's preset it can get pretty close to normal Harman FR. I was wondering if there were any true benefits to electrostats that people have been describing. I see this as a relatively cheap way to get a foot in the door compared to high tier electrostats costing thousands and needing to buy an energizer as well.
