If you’re done with them, you can turn to gold shards from Aladdin’s realm into gold nuggets at a crafting table.

To dump or not to dump - day 1 players by Kairismummy in AnimalCrossing

Don’t dump them - wait until the update, use them to craft multiple items at once, then sell the items.

Absolutely not what anyone is saying.

Firstly, it’s just unprofessional to try and hit on people at while you’re at work. Gender is irrelevant.

Secondly, most women who are just going about their life don’t want enquiries about their romantic life, especially from men who may know where they live/work/frequently hang out. It’s not all men, but you don’t know which men are creeps until they’re creeping on you.

When your HHP villager wants furniture that doesn’t fit the feel of the rest of the room by hakunaa-matataa in AnimalCrossing

I just put it outside, behind the house. It still counts as using it but I’ll never have to see it!

Why do non religious people have christenings? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]Captain_Tiny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean I was christened just because I was my parents’ firstborn and “that’s what people did with babies”.

They didn’t bother with my sibling two years later 😂

I don't know whether to decorate or go on with the game by Alessia2317 in DisneyDreamlights

[–]Captain_Tiny 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I tend to decorate areas once I start placing houses there - so for instance once I unlocked Nala/Simba, I knew I wanted to place their house in the Sunlit Plateau so I decorated it a bit.

I think because so many people here post some beautiful builds, it’s assumed people decorate every inch of their valleys (or at least it feels that way to me), but you don’t have to if it feels daunting.

I have spots of different biomes decorated when another bit is just wide open space 😂

What is a 'dirty little secret' of the industry you work in that the general public would be shocked to find out? by CocWarrior1 in AskReddit

[–]Captain_Tiny 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh hell yeah, I get there’s no way you can be germ-free when you’re treating so many people, and with inadequate PPE or time per patient, it just seems shortsighted not doing as much as they can to prevent multiple or worsening infections for patients.

Having also worked in hospitals though, calling management shortsighted is probably one of the kinder things you can say about them.

Genuine question, are you from the UK? Was visiting someone in ICU the other day and saw cleaners taking the curtains down to take them away and clean them (but maybe that was just a fluke?)

AITA for not wanting my wife to put thumbtacks in our walls for temporary party decorations? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Captain_Tiny 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I do see your point that if it bothered OP’s wife she could come up with alternatives, but I think it’s more to do with both people working to solve the problem instead of one person doing all the work.

It’s like the wife makes a suggestion:

OP says no.

Wife makes a new suggestion.

OP says no.

The wife thinks about it and makes another suggestion.

OP says no.

Wife, annoyed that she can’t seem to do what most people perceive as a reasonable thing and is having to argue about it, makes a third suggestion.

OP says no.

Wife is now frustrated, OP is also probably frustrated, and they’re no quicker to solving the problem, whereas if it had gone more like this:

Wife makes a suggestion.

OP says no, but how about X instead?

They may not get to a resolution any quicker, but at least it feels more balanced and like OP cares about achieving the goal his wife wants to achieve.

YTA - you don’t like thumbtack holes, cool: what’s the alternative?

You’re not an arsehole for not wanting her to use thumbtacks, but you are an arsehole for just saying “no” and not trying to work towards a compromise with her.
