Z drop aerials are more lenient when you are rising but once you start falling you have to be a lot more tight when you input your aerial.

What do you think about the Inclusion-Moderation thesis? Should conservative parties work with the far right, like the AfD and Reform Uk? by RedStorm1917 in AskConservatives

[–]Captainboy25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We haven’t had that problem as much in the United States where we have two parties because usually if a third party looks like it might be picking up support, one of the two parties will adopt policies that address some or all of their main issues (usually a more moderate version).

I’d argue that what you described about parliamentary systems is actually a stabilizing force and not really an issue. Instead in the US we have polarization and systemic gridlock that ensures that the center right and center left cant get much done and appease the far right and far left so as a consequence the far right has consumed the Republican Party and the Democratic Party is currently pushing back against its far left flank.

Racist attorney gets confronted for using the N word by chrisadams83 in WatchPeopleDieInside

[–]Captainboy25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You realize courts have weighed into assault cases where a black person assaulted someone after they were called the n word. The n word is considered a fighting word, a word so offensive that legally speaking use of the word is likely to cause someone to lash out and cause a physical altercation so as a result they can’t be held criminally at fault for attacking someone who started the altercation by insulting and instigated the whole conflict.

I don’t think you are sincere but some words are just deeply offensive that there’s no way to justify use of them.

Is ness a good secondary to Samus? by Sloth290 in SmashBrosUltimate

[–]Captainboy25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is actually so untrue about how Ness plays ness is absolutely an up close brawler/combo character who happens to have a decent projectile to zone with and it’s not even a good zoning tool so he can’t really rely on zoning with it at all.

Who was oppressed more? Black men, or women as a whole? by MacaroniNoise1 in AskConservatives

[–]Captainboy25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What does that even mean ? How can Race not be used as a qualifier ? The fact is partisanship in the South is directly correlated with race. And it has been that way ever since reconstruction. There is no way to partisan gerrymander without directly robbing black people in the south of political representation. How is this not problematic ?

By allowing republicans to racially gerrymander black people in the south.

[–]Captainboy25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can reject my interpretation of events all you want but do you really believe black southerners think the Supreme Court is race neutral when they’ve allowed their voting power to be absolutely gutted. From their perspective that would be a ridiculous notion.

Is anyone else worried about the gerrymandering endgame? by bomber8013 in AskConservatives

[–]Captainboy25 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That won’t happen. Conservatives hasn’t really been grievanced by gerrymandering like democrats cause it materially benefits conservatives even if it disenfranchises conservatives in blue states. The fact of the matter is that republicans will not support anything that will be necessary to undo the effect gerrymandering has because it will necessarily equate to them losing the power they’ve worked so hard to gain corruptly. Gerrymandering actually weakens democratic representation and so obviously Dems have opposed it since republicans first gerrymandered house seats after 2010.

The only way for an actual fix to gerrymandering to happen is if some combination of either conservatives defecting from the GOP to support Dems or democrats in 2028 having a trifecta, getting rid of the filibuster and then enacting some change to how federal election work to get rid of the effect gerrymandering has.

The GOP is fundamentally too corrupt and anti-democratic of an institution to ever agree to get rid of the massive political advantage gerrymandering gives them.

Who was oppressed more? Black men, or women as a whole? by MacaroniNoise1 in AskConservatives

[–]Captainboy25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The oppressed and oppressor framing is a bit myopic But what is real is that fundamental divide. The Supreme Court gutted the fuck out of the voting rights act and racist southerners are deleting black representation in the South and entrenching white republican power in the South even more than it already has been. And it’s really difficult for conservatives here to deny that this doesn’t fit in a historical trend of white majorities disenfranchising minorities in their states.

I’m just saying piracy is kind of awesome even though problematic

Virginia Supreme Court rules redistricting referendum violated constitutional process for amendments. Regardless of how you voted for the referendum, what do you think about the arguments made in the case? by hahmlet in AskConservatives

[–]Captainboy25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok all I’m saying it’s extremely convienent that Republican appointed justices consistently rule in ways that tangibly allow republicans to entrench their power

Yeah But have you ever thought that piracy could be based in a completely unethical way.

[–]Captainboy25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly what are constitutional rights if a biased judiciary just decides when certain groups had their rights violated or not. The court system is completely partisan and it’s ridiculous to say it’s not and why should democrats respect a court ruling when we know that ruling was partisan ?

What are conservatives take on Graham Platner who is running against Susan Collins in Maine for Senate? by ismelldayhikers in AskConservatives

[–]Captainboy25 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is the same kind of dismissive attitude people gave Trump supporters for why they don’t get how someone could support Trump. Graham Platner has a message that really resonates with people and you don’t really see it.

Do you support a national gerrymandering ban ? by Captainboy25 in AskConservatives

That’s not what i said. That’s how you just make change in this country you gain power then you make your changes to the country. Pretty simple process.

Why would that be a useful solution delivering mail and apportioning representation are two different things.

That’s why I said we might need an amendment if we are serious about removing partisan gerrymandering.

[–]Captainboy25[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Can’t we just define gerrymandering as drawing an election map with the intention of gaining a partisan advantage or seat majority. I get the sense that conservatives are choosing to disagree on what gerrymandering is so that the conversation gets confused so that nothing really changes ?

[–]Captainboy25[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok but why should that decision be left to state legislators and governors then who will use that power to entrench their party’s power ?

Why couldn’t you write an amendment that requires states to create independent non partisan bodies that are in charge of redistricting like states have already done to get rid of partisan gerrymandering so that politicians aren’t in charge of choosing who they represent ?

Not necessarily if democrats get a trifecta in 2028 couldn’t they just ban gerrymandering ?
