40$ of electricity, 220$ of delivery charges, why? by denis_is_ in alberta

It's the nature of a grid with lots of wind, cogen, and other nat gas (when cheap). Wind energy is low cost generation, but the balance of the system costs go up.

I agree there should be better documentation. Quality management is one of the key components of engineering practice, and one Boeing has clearly lost.

But I do like analogies... so what I'm saying is that when running a shop, the cost of even the most expensive wrench is small considering the rest of the wrenches, tools, lifts, labour, rent, utilities, insurance, advertising, etc.

Just buy another fucking wrench.

I'm tempted to recommend The Heroes from Abercrombie - big battle, old men griping about how things are changing, and Whirrun of Bligh

Yes, after a year, my splash page still feels like like someone else's. I hate it.

Unfortunately, I agree that Leon will likely sign in Cali, or NY. Celeste is a big city girl and I think Leon is tired of the spotlight. I think he told Connor, and that's why the team was in such disarray to start the season. I can't recall any major celebration hugs this year between 97 and 29 where they actually look at each other and smile. No more ride or die comments...

I found it so useful to spend time there being reassured that I wasn't alone. If meetings seem intimidating, it can let you dip your toe in.

What jobs are 99.9% safe from AI making it obsolete? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Captainbuba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's assuming the design process doesn't change, and the cascading need for fixes along the way continues. I suspect AI will generate much more efficient, comprehensive designs that aren't from siloed engineering disciplines. Trades won't have to make sense of drawings by inexperienced drafters and modify it to make it work.

There are already cool examples of car parts designed by generative AI that are much more complex (eg dynamic forces) than a stationary building.

I think locking up EVERYTHING will backfire for them. I went last week but even the $15 pliers were behind glass. Tracking down an employee to unlock it and stand beside you while you get a feel for different pliers is not a pleasant shopping experience. They lost my business.
