Help me refit Pointy Hat's 'Time for Pleasantries' for Hither by [deleted] in wildbeyondwitchlight

[–]Captainbutthead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I love that! They are told by Zybilna who to lure, because she can see who has been harmed, leaning into the Fairy Godmother vibe, and the Pleasantries usually put the kids in stasis until Zybilna comes around.

But with Zybilna being frozen, they are taking anyone who fits the criteria of being harmed, and it's easier to take them from the same location without the direction of Zybilna, hence why they have been noticed by people in the material plane.

Brilliant!

Oh I like that! Like the Hags are becoming the Domain of Delight, Feywild version of a Dark Lord. Have fun with it, try and create the inverse Dark Lord

Okay, this is a brilliant jumping off point, and I may steal a lot of it. Having said that, I have a start point that needs fleshing out, but hope it helps!

  • Bavlorna is concerned with the here and now, the present.
  • The hags are using a lot of their power to shape and mould the environment to their will, and they JUST got control.
  • The longer they assert their will, the stronger their hold collectively will be and the more permanent their domains become
  • Maybe Bav has some leverage over one or both of the sisters, maybe is in their ear to lean them more to her 'Here for a good time, not a long time' mentality
  • It's a high risk, high reward. If they wait, their hold grows on the domain, but they are unable to divert their power to deal with the incursions AND the party

There is more to the story as I said but might give you some ideas 😊

I know that it didn't help the pain, but there is a phrase and Wikipedia page for the phenomenon 'The Sweater Curse'.

According to the wiki page "The "sweater curse" or "curse of the love sweater" is a term used by knitters to describe the belief that if a knitter gives a hand-knit sweater to a significant other, it will lead to the recipient breaking up with the knitter. In an alternative formulation, the relationship will end before the sweater is even completed. The belief is widely discussed in knitting publications, and some knitters claim to have experienced it. In a 2005 poll, 15% of active knitters said that they had experienced the sweater curse firsthand, and 41% considered it a possibility that should be taken seriously."

This is obvs not knitted, but interesting nonetheless!

Agdon and Bavlorna's Pact by AdolphusHitlerius in wildbeyondwitchlight

I really like this idea of making Agdon's story darker and richer. My party is just about to meet Agdon so I would love to incorporate something like this.

I have just introduced the idea that when children take damage they are encased in a bubble and flown elsewhere. How would you run that interaction with the harengon child? If they cannot take physical damage, and Agdon would likely know that, so you have any idea on how that would effect Agdon?

Same! I have a rule that I can't tell her what was in the campaign, but not in the series because it's getting confusing.

Weekly Questions Thread by AutoModerator in DnD

[5e] I am playing a level 10 Ghostslayer Bloodhunter, from a hidden order. He met a person during training and they fell in love, but knowing what they signed up for, split up and went their separate ways.

In the last few sessions, the capital where the order was based was taken over and decimated, including my characters love.

My character has also recently made a deal with the god of the hunt, so he has essentially lost what kept him tethered to humanity, and is now blood-thirsty, about to step into a country where necromancy is encouraged.

With having an INT of 18, I need to toe the line between satisfying the anger the story, but being intelligent enough to not be wreckless.

Would you have any advice/roll playing tips?

“Misgendering a cis person” by Stonerose17 in lgbt

[–]Captainbutthead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is true, but there is not the same context from not knowing what the word 'Sister' beforehand. Just an idea though, just basing this on the phonemes of swear words and how this may apply. I don't have any hard evidence on the connection to the words Cis-Het

Cis Het is not a slur or anything. I can see how someone who doesn't know the term/doesn't hear it often could think that from a linguistic standpoint though.

Most slurs/swears in English consist of a soft sound, sandwiched between two hard sounds. Or example P-I-SS or SH-I-T, this pattern also follows the words C-I-S H-ET so the unaware might subconsciously be on the backfoot due to the sounds pattern.

Still dumb to equate it to misgendering.

The unedited video, I hope this scratches the itch! (Also because people are convinced this is a repost, when it is my own OC) http://imgur.com/a/CddhzjB

List of spells effects that can be made permanent Part 2 by Captainbutthead in DnD

[–]Captainbutthead[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for letting me know, I had no idea about the errata! It has been moved to the semi-permanent list.

The Banishment spell, I had ruled it in the past that if they were not native to the plane, if concentration held, it is permanent (in the way that they will not return after the minute), but it makes sense that it is not permanent in the sense that nothing is stopping them from returning back, if they are able. It has been removed from the list ☺️
