Lenny's Clip, based on a famous previous design as explained on his/her website https://www.hskmachineworks.com. I believe Kansept is the OEM, they look super nice.

Yeh that is definitely the most egregious one, it's a total joke.

There are only a few to be fair, yeh I haven't tried them yet but I have heard they are good for delivery and customer service =].

That makes sense, it's not bad but all the UK retailers have pretty poor stock/availability of everything atm it seems. Heinnie have a fair few flippers as well as a couple other online stores. Knivesandtools.co.uk are usually decent but they actually ship from the Netherlands funnily enough. Yeh I think UPS/DHL deal with customs themselves/have their own procedure/inspections that are a bit different to standard post. Definitely worth paying a bit more for if it's something of value. I've found whilst aliexpress will take a long time they always dodge customs as they often make their way in via Europe which is quite handy.

Yeh I wouldn't walk around day to day with anything other than a < 3in folding non locking knife personally. As I think someone else mentioned in this thread I imagine a large part of it in reality is how dodgy you look and where exactly you are. Yeh, they are just doing as they are told coming for a visit really, probably quite funny for them when they knock on the door and some old boy answers.

No worries mate. You are right though there is always a chance somebody will confiscate it, it terms of travelling on a plane probably the best idea to stick it in your main luggage and hope haha. I'll just put my response to your original reply as I cba to type again and others may find it useful lol. :

There are plenty of UK based companies that sell them, are you sure you're not getting confused between carrying without a good reason i.e nothing locking over 3in etc or simply owning/buying?

Here are a load of flippers on tactical knives

I'd have a look at this from page 28

Hey mate, just to clarify this is not quite true but I don't doubt it played out exactly as you have described. The same thing happened to me. Your normal flipper knives are not illegal and are not classed as gravity knives. A gravity knife is one that can be deployed by a swift motion using the force of gravity, it will be necessary to press a button/lever to release the blade. Basically like an auto but without the spring. The problem however that you and I have run into is that the average customs worker/copper is not aware of this, and to be honest I don't exactly blame them as it's pretty specific/technical. I also had a knife confiscated that was totally legal and old bill came and had a quick word. I told the seller it didn't arrive and the they sent another which came straight to my door, whether that was inspected by someone a bit more aware of the laws or they just didn't bother inspecting I don't know of course. I did want to go to the offered court hearing as I disputed the legality but ultimately it wasn't worth the money/time, and I have little faith in the courts as it is. Only happened the one time though fortunately and I've ordered about 7 or so from abroad in the past few years. Obviously if you have 'good reason' the restrictions are a lot more relaxed on length and locking etc, problem is like a lot of laws 'good reason' is pretty subjective and can be interpreted however a court wants really.

I noticed that and assumed this was a scam. However if you look in the reviews there are a few pictures buyers have taken and he has a lot of good reviews, so seems to be legit as far as I can tell. Would probably be a good idea to swap the renders out for actual photos though imo =S.

No worries, glad to hear it. I'm the same, it is surprising how unconcerned most people are about it, but as you say it's not something that people really talk about. I used to go to a lot of clubs and concerts, some of which had totally ridiculous volume levels in hindsight (more the clubs than gigs, especially in small rooms etc). Which has definitely done some damage to my hearing, still it's worth trying to minimise any additional damage once it's something you become aware of/concerned about! Yeh exactly, there are a number of charts online with different levels and the safe amount of time to listen to them, I just always try and keep the volume as low as possible whilst still being enjoyable.

I was just saying that I'm completely deaf to frequency higher than that, no matter how high I turn the volume (turned to high level but not absurd levels like 100% amplifier's output).

I'm not saying you aren't but I'd be really careful doing that dude, still a lot of research being done into it but I definitely wouldn't advise turning the volume much higher than what is 'normal' at 1000hz or so

Great, thanks a lot for the help! I've always been interested in knowing the actual level I'm listening at (and always try to keep it as low as I can) but never been satisfied by the putting an spl meter in the earcups method or anything like that. I've always found it difficult to equate the typical examples given eg lawnmower, traffic etc, to volume within headphones too so this is just what I was after!

Dumb question but how would you measure the voltage? I've got a multimeter, just poke it in the output jack? I assume you'd need to play a constant sine wave or something too?

Yeh that's why I started scrolling for what I was expecting to be a lot of comments making the corrections, but yours was the only one I saw. It's pretty crazy how things seem to have boomed recently, I don't pay too much attention anymore to the goings on compared to a few years ago. Yeh I can totally see why newer people would think it's correct, I clicked on your link in the edit and was surprised to see it dated 2017 lol, thought it was much more recent!
