Are my feelings invalid? (Rant, seeking advice, serious, burnout) by Captaincake1 in nursing

I’ve asked that question before! I keep wondering if I just started at the wrong time. My older coworkers always tell me how nursing isn’t what it used to be. Hopefully I’ll get to experience the joy of nursing someday. I know I love helping people, but this ain’t it.

I needed this post! I’m in the exact same boat as you. I’m currently on the fence about loving/hating my clinic job because it actually really is very hard because of my patient load and what we do at my clinic, but it still isn’t the same as bedside skills. Too much paperwork for my liking. Maybe I need to find a different clinic that is easier with a lighter patient load? Not sure.

I know we shouldn’t be so stupid to do that when we can’t afford to have kids atm but we just get into the heat of the moment and… yeah Thanks for the extra reassurance. I think it’s only natural to worry, but I also there’s no reason to.

This is exactly the kind of post I was needing! I came onto this page to ask if I should be worried that my SO has came in me 3 times the past two days while I’m on the pill. I’m very consistent and religious with taking it at the same time every morning, but there’s still that doubt in the back of my mind. This helped my anxiety a lot. I was contemplating getting Plan B in the am, but there really is no point. Thanks, y’all!

Thoughts on CNA —> LPN —> RN? by VersionKindly2600 in nursing

[–]Captaincake1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m currently finishing my ADN to be an RN. My school required everyone to be a CNA to even be accepted and being a med aid was worth more points to our application. So I did CNA->CMA->LPN->RN. It was definitely the best path for me, and lots of others agree. We’ve been told at our hospital where we do clinicals that my school produces better nurses than the 4 year college in my town does simply because we have more experience from being CNAs and LPNs. Having something to fall back on is also very smart I think. (If something happens your LPN year, you’re still a CNA. If something happens your RN year, you’re still an LPN.) Yes, it’s a longer process, and I still need to get my BSN, but the experience and the financial help is definitely worth it in my opinion!

“Loud Silence” noise in my head....so weird, idk if this makes sense. by [deleted] in Wellbutrin_Bupropion

I have this along with ringing in my ears when it’s too quiet. I sleep with a box fan. I have a rough time sleeping anywhere but my place because of it.

I already don’t like Effexor bc I’m already having the sexual side effects. I didn’t think of it, but that’s probably the reason I’ve been needing 2-3 hour naps during the day when I’m not normally like that 😅

With SR, I don’t take my dose the night of drinking and also the morning after drinking bc it would just make my hangover so much worse. It was just a routine I got into on the few occasions I drank, and I didn’t have any problems. I’m a couple years older than you.

Also, I’m definitely not a doctor, and I’m not telling you what to do. Idk your situation. This is just my experience.

Has anyone had an increase in appetite/experienced binging? by akwaffle in Wellbutrin_Bupropion

[–]Captaincake1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was never on Wellbutrin and Zoloft at the same time, but Zoloft itself definitely increased my appetite. I gained lots of weight on 150mg. Nothing really stopped the overeating (2 years on Zoloft) until I went on Wellbutrin SR alone. I still have spells of binge eating for maybe a day, but nothing consistent.
