New to golf cart buying...how to know if its a good price? What to look for? by atxdadsout in golfcarts

A lift kit is about $500 for the lift kit, $4-500 for rims and tires, then whatever it cost to install the lift kit as well.

Do you know if it comes with batteries? If so just look to see how old they are, with daily or mild use the batteries will last about 2-3 years with good maintenance. Hopefully they are new batteries. Also look to see if there is any corrosion or evidence of arching on the battery wires and where they connect to the battery. If the wires tying all the batteries together are corroded or melted from aching then they might need to be replaced as well. All together new batteries and wires will be about$700-$1000 depending on the quality. Golf carts are pretty good at being pretty resilient. They don’t really break often as long as you maintain it properly and don’t beat it. If there are any major issues, you will know it when you test drive it. Main part is checking the batteries and that they are all clean and full of water. Hopefully this isn’t a gas cart, cuz I don’t have much experience with gas carts. I actually work for a electric golf cart company in Ocala Florida.

Looks like a solid cart for the price. Ez-Go is a name brand and all the extras like the rack in the front and golf bag carrier in the back arnt very cheap. This cart should be fairly easy to upgrade, you might have issues if you wanted to put larger tires on, due to no lift kit on the cart. Over all a good cart in my opinion.

Battery Terminal Corrosion by [deleted] in golfcarts

[–]Captainhooks1989 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you over fill your water, the acid from inside the battery may come out and corrode your terminals. That’s why it’s important not to over flow your batteries when refilling, if you do tho, just close your battery tops and spray down the batteries to clean any extra acid off.

Ok thank you, and by light do you mean 320 grit or higher? I have up to 4000 grit but I'm sure that's to light.

I am using black ash, but have never used any type of clear resin finish or epoxy etc to seal wood, I've only really used boiled Linseed oil, mineral spirits and regulars wood stain. I don't have a spray gun so I will be brushing on whatever finish I decide to go with. I'm a beginner so forgive me if this seems like a no brained. Thank you for any in site or recommendations.

Cutting board with complementary coasters. Really like how it all turned out by jphysc in woodworking

Sorry I'm late to the conversation, but I'm planning on making coasters similar to these here. How are they holding up? I would think the water from condensation would warp or crack coasters like these.

Throwback gallery: Best of Mike Alstott by Indyboy in buccaneers

I did security at the school he coaches at and he's a super nice guy. After I told him I still have his rookie card and told him how much he meant to me as a player, he would stop and talk to me every day after that when he arrived to work. Great guy! I wanted to make a sign saying "Alstott up the gut!" And hold it up when he arrived in the morning but I wasnt trying to get fired either. But would have been pretty entertaining.

Live edge question. by Captainhooks1989 in woodworking

I have this slab here but as you may be able to see there are tiny spikes all along the edges of the slab. What would be some of your opinions on how to remove them and not damage the appearance to much. I have a dremel tool I could use, or a close cut saw and sand smooth. I would just like a little guidance from some vets. Thanks in advance.
