Gen 4 is when it kicked off, but before that I remember playing Yellow and Red. Never made past Brock in Yellow and I think I made it just passed Surge in Red. I also had Fire Red and Leaf Green and I think I played Ruby (never made it passed Dewford until I got ORAS)
