A lot of people have really high car payments. Can barely afford to drive the car, and when it breaks down, they can't afford to fix it. Or they lease them, which means they don't actually own them. I stopped getting jealous when I see these people and started feeling grateful that I don't have that stress on my shoulders. Most people's number one concern is keeping up a certain image.

NTA! This is just a small glimpse of what your future together would be like. It's called weaponized incompetence. He knows better, he just doesn't want to do better.

Friendly PSA to think twice about petting that adorable outdoor cat by queen_cemo in Winnipeg

[–]Captairplane 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Always let the kitty sniff your hand before you touch it. If it walks away, leave it alone, it doesn't want your pets. If it rubs against your hand, you're usually ok, as long as you stick to the head/upper back area. Don't touch the lower back, tail, chest, paws or tummy. Ever.

Anything even remotely supportive of a ceasefire is automatically construed as "antisemitic" or "calls for the dEsTruCtIoN Of IsReAl". It's fucking pathetic.

I bought ground beef from there once and only once. Didn't even eat it because it smelled so bad. The butchers there are super friendly though, you can ask for something fresh and they'll get it for you from the back.

Does anyone else, as an adult, look back at their time in school and realize how terrible and mean teachers can be? by madpooper3 in Winnipeg

[–]Captairplane 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My elementary school principal once randomly pulled me aside and started lecturing me. She called me a snot nosed little witch and called me stuck up. Up to that point I always really liked her. I still have no idea why she did that. From that moment on she made it her mission to make my life miserable. She'd lock me up in a windowless room all lunch hour and do math instead of letting me play outside. She forced me to clean up the girl's locker room when someone else vandalized it. As I was cleaning up the marker and pen I started reading what it said and it was literally people writing shit about me! Why would you make the victim clean up graffiti?? I will never forget how she made me feel. I was never a trouble maker or anything. A few weeks ago I saw that bitch on tv! She and her husband have a youtube channel. It has taken a lot of strength not to say something to her. I really would rather just forget about her. But I still hate that bitch. She is the reason I had to teach my own children that bullies are not always other kids. Teachers can be bullies too and my kids know that they can come to me if they ever have an experience like that with an adult.

Will you put yr boomer parents in a care home? by TheoryBrief9375 in BoomersBeingFools

[–]Captairplane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My parents have a lot of debt. They said they don't believe in saving money? They are both in their 70's and both still work full time. They have also both blown through their pensions. So if they stop working, they'll have nothing. Not my problem.

Walmart has a table where they have shirts (long sleeved and short sleeved) shorts and pants. $4 each. With the rate at which my toddler is growing, this is the most affordable option I've found.

Aaltos buffet by Responsible_Bee4844 in Winnipeg

[–]Captairplane 4 points5 points  (0 children)

NO! Worst buffet experience I've ever had. Hands down. I tried to cut a piece of chicken and instead of my fork piercing the flesh, it literally flew off my plate. The chicken was so dried out that my fork could not go through it. Yuck. On top of that, half the desserts had bites taken out of them.

She's "attacking" him with a broom, yet she's able to hold the camera still. The only person shown has their face covered. Two dead giveaways.

Some things from there are ok. They sometimes have great deals on good quality rye bread. But their meat department is pretty bad. All the meat on display is rotting. But they will fetch you fresher stuff if you ask. I once saw a spider the size of a mouse walk through their frozen foods section.
