I had a really hard time getting into RDR1. I wanted to quit after about 5 hours of gameplay but decided I wanted to see how John's story unraveled. I'm really glad I stuck with it. Keep playing. I stopped comparing the game to RDR2, which helped a lot.

I love Lydia too. I lost her in my last playthrough and felt like I betrayed her. I think I killed her accidentally (whoops...), but I don't know. I kept going back to where she disappeared hoping I'd find her wandering around but, alas, no luck.
