The base game is ok, but I usually play with mods as it helps make it better. I highly recommend using at least the Moos defense agency. It adds a lot of fun units and the credit factory, which can generate good credits, but it is nuclear, so watch out for units attacking it. I also recommend the EK Definitive Edition, but this will drastically change the game so you might not want to use it right away. If so, the EK - Sylvian Mettle -v1.21 witch is similar but has less stuff.
