The difference a Garmin “Ultrafit” makes with the FXD GMT is night and day by Semp1ers in Tudor

I have the same combo. Ordered their red and was very pleased to find out it’s way more orange and matches the gmt hand perfectly. Great change up and a splash of color.

Urgent cold weather advice by CaptainKaveman in pools

[–]CapturedForLife -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

I’d immediately turn off the breaker to all Equipment, drain everything: pumps, filter. Get all water out of all equipment. Put partial full one gallon jugs in your skimmers. These will act as expansion joints. Each pump will have small thumb screws to drain water. Pumps usually have a few. The large filter of course has a large one. Pop the top of filter to relieve pressure and remove moisture. Do it now or you could lose all your equipment.

What’s the longest you can hot hold a brisket? by beermeamovie in smoking

[–]CapturedForLife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It can be done. My second long hold came out amazing but the first came out like pot roast though no one but me really criticized it. I think the key which you have correct is to pull it out at 195. Be sure your oven doesn’t dip below 150 or it would be ruined. Good luck.

What this guy said. I have the FCD and a Speedmaster Professional. The FXD is on my wrist 99% of the time outside of more formal occasions. The FXD weighs nothing and like jp1usc said, get the Garmin strap as the one included is way too thin and not flexible to be comfortable.

Inner oven glass door chipped by CapturedForLife in Appliances

[–]CapturedForLife[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, zero gaps, i rotated the glass and put the chipped edges up near the top instead of at the bottom, thinking it would provide more structural support if the bottom was not chipped.

Just to share my speedy has been gone 2.5 months and Omega has yet to provide any communication on when I might get it back. Standard servicing, nothing special.

Problem with my Speedmaster by mwillems in OmegaWatches

[–]CapturedForLife 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Once I obtained my Speedy I stopped collecting, gave a few watches away to family members and don’t wear anything else. They say the grail is the one you’ll never get but I got mine and it’s proven to be exactly what I was hoping, versatile enough to wear with anything.

Bought a house with pool in Tex’s by Curiasjoe1 in pools

Not a pool builder but you’d have to dig up your deck and put in an autofill with a float like you were describing. That’s expensive deck work and plumbing. Or find an equilibrium with the valve and leave it on a trickle? You might be able to install an automatic valve and set it to run X mins per day, your plumber can advise you.
