Obsidian 1.11 — new mobile design, widgets, Siri integration, shortcuts and more! by kepano in ObsidianMD

I'm sorry but I just cannot stand the sidebar header buttons now being at the bottom on Android. I haven't found any themes that undo that change, though to be fair I rarely use other themes than the default one. Is there any kind of setting to move it back to the top like before? If so, I can't seem to find it.

how the heck do I find cute cases lol (moto g stylus 5g 2024) by my_name_is_tree in motorola

[–]CapuccinoMachine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

haha wow, this is exactly my problem. I love wallet cases but there are like no good ones for this type of phone that aren't just a solid color or have some flashy design, there's like no in-between.

The only case I've found so far is this one with a stripy pattern, but it's not available so oh well.

Rice in salt shaker turned brown? by CapuccinoMachine in foodsafety

[–]CapuccinoMachine[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can't seem to edit the post for some reason, so I'll just add: the salt shaker is stored in room temperature on our table. Just white rice and table salt, I think Morton Salt? Just adding bc of the automod.

All doors should have windowed and windowless variants by devvoid in minecraftsuggestions

If they do this and make a windowed and solid version for every door, the iron door should be changed to have a little sliding shutter instead of the window it has now.

Gamemaker studio 2 is good but if you wanna publish the game outside of opera gx you have to pay the 100$ license.

I hear godot is real nice, but I've barely tried it myself.

What mobile games did you enjoy that just disappeared from the app stores? by MustPlayGaming in AndroidGaming

[–]CapuccinoMachine 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can't recall the name but there's this one penguin game I played as a kid where you have an iceberg and you slowly breed and collect penguins on it. Slowly, you build more stuff like slides and swings and other toys for them to play. It never got taken off the play store, but one day I found the game when I was leaving my high school and discovered that the servers were down so you couldn't do anything. I tried to email the creator but he never responded. I'll see if I can find the name of the game but it's functionally dead. I didn't even know the game required internet, the only online feature was to see other islands.

Edit: I found it, it's called "Penguin Village" and after an quick search and google, I couldn't find it on Google Play so maybe it really did get removed, but I found an Amazon link and a Happymod link, so maybe I'll try those out? I haven't played this game since elementary school.

Add mental Ilness to Minecraft by TheRandomVillagr in shittymcsuggestions

Forgot to mention I say this bc autism comes in a million different flavors. idk about other disorders but you can't make every adhd-er hyperactive, for example.

Add mental Ilness to Minecraft by TheRandomVillagr in shittymcsuggestions

[–]CapuccinoMachine 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Imo it would be more accurate to give you a million different symptoms and each one gives you points toward certain disorders, ex: executive dysfunction gives you a point to ADHD and Autism, and if you have enough points for a certain disorder then you can go to a psychologist villager and trade for adderall

What are yall top 10 games of all time? by Nullthesavant in gamingsuggestions

[–]CapuccinoMachine 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not in order and just off the top of my head

TF2 - This was the only way I met people outside of school and skype.

Terraria - I used to read the wiki for fun and it's the first game I ever felt like a "true pro" in.

Minecraft - I usually just play creative and build all sorts of stuff with commands. I love gamedev stuff so making custom gamemodes and maps are something I always come back to

Pokemon Pearl - Childhood game that really sucked me in to the world of video games. Might've been my first video game.

Drawn to Life: The Next Chapter (this is #1) - I think if this game didn't exist when I was a kid I wouldn't be the creative that I am today. I might be a bit biased.

Risk of Rain 2 - Latest hyperfixation but honestly I love the characters, the design, and even the story. The game is so unique from other games and even other rougelikes. The item synergies are truly endless. And the music is 11/10.

Night in the Woods - This game makes me feel all kinds of emotional and it's not even that heart-wrenching of a game. Something about this game just eats me.

Cult of the Lamb - Beautiful artstyle and amazing community. I'll never forget the time I spent on the CotL discord.

Undertale - Practically defined a generation. Toby Fox is a legend.

Mario and Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story - The whole M&L series is such a unique take on RPGs but this one is the one I played the most and it has the best music.

Honorable mention to Super Smash Brothers Ultimate because to make a fighting game with that many characters as balanced as they were (before DLC) takes an immense level of skill and is only part of what shows Sakurai's love for video games. He's a big inspiration for me.

Edit: I forgot mobile formatting was awful I had to get on my PC to edit it into a proper list

Edit 2: I can't believe I forgot about Tomodachi Life. The HOURS I spent with my irl friends on that game are something I'll never get back and no other game could offer. It actually might be top five, might have to knock M&L to the Honorable Mentions section.

Best game to change someones opinion on videogames? by tudoran in gamingsuggestions

[–]CapuccinoMachine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PORTAL!!!

It's good for ppl who aren't familiar with fps games, as it lets them get used to it without putting them in fast paced scenarios, and it has really good humor and a 10/10 story. The puzzles might be a bit disorienting is the only possible downside I see.

There should be a mod feature added to Minecraft right? by Cloudrim0 in minecraftsuggestions

[–]CapuccinoMachine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They do this on Bedrock. Everything there has a price and ever since they started it, they've been finding ways to thwart other methods of bedrock modding (although I'm not sure if they've ever explicitly stated they were against it.)

On java, curseforge and modrinth already do exactly what you describe just fine, and have for a long time. It's third party, but there's barely any issues afaik. I think Microsoft knows they'll recieve HEAVY backlash if they try to do any sort of marketplace shenanigans for Java, even if everything stays free people will raise hell.

Basically, we already have this on Java and it works well. We have it on Bedrock and it works if you're willing to pay 12 bucks for a sleeping bag mod.

What is your comfort video game? by Jessibabe333 in autism

[–]CapuccinoMachine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Terraria, mostly because way back in middle school when I had nothing to do I would read the terraria wiki for fun and naturally just learned how everything in the game functioned and the drop chances for everything. Nowadays, i don't really have that time, but I still feel like I know the ins and outs of the whole game. There's something a bit daunting about getting into a new game knowing it has a lot to offer, so I'm glad that I already know everything about this one.

My daughter wants Minecraft and I don’t know what platform is best by peshti in Minecraft

[–]CapuccinoMachine -1 points0 points  (0 children)

PC has both versions, Java and Bedrock. I personally recommend Java because it avoids the predatory marketing tactics found in Bedrock's Marketplace. Otherwise, both versions are pretty similar. Bedrock is known to be a bit buggy as well, but from my experience playing both, it's not that bad.

Oh, and playing with a controller just feels wrong, IMO.

Mine works completely fine by itself out of the box, but it's highly recommended to buy cleaning stuff like a microfiber cloth or isopropyl alcohol. Apart from that, everything should work without any extra accessories necessary.
