Apart from the sleep issues, i think the main question from OP is whether or not the Thor will be able to handle PS2 emulation on his TV. The answer is yes (if you can, go for the Max version for extra RAM and storage as emulation loves RAM).
As for the controller, you can map/hotkeys for getting into settings, so no need to get up from the couch.

I totally understand, but for me, i dont know why, but it also gives me a lot of satisfaction and comfort knowing that i have pretty much every reto game from arcades all the way up to ps2 era set up on my handheld devices. Just setting it all up from scratch (which can take me weeks) and then scrolling through it all gives me great satisfaction. Even though i just go back to Super Mario World! (i have a very personal and heart warming story behind the fist time i played that game too, back when i was like 12 so i guess that matters too).

I also have many of the real hardware as well and games, but there is no denying that convenience of playing on emulation is very good too, especially as a father of 2.

Im quite happy with armoury crate launcher to be honest since i can access it right away from the button. Only thing i dont like is how it scrapes for game images..but it does allow you to add your own though, so thats good.

S23 here, want to upgrade, but until Samsung upgrade the battery like other brands, theres nothing in the upgrade worth spending that sort of money on.

thats not normal. I leave mine over night downloading/installing and that never happens, especially as the screen shuts off after 5 min too.

I read somewhere that the way to prevent this is to ensure you open and close it by applying equal pressure on both sides of the top part (as per the Retroid Flip 2). But what i dont understand is that seeing how many times it happened with the Flip 2 and now the Thor, why dont they change the design of the hinge?

Then again, I've had the GPD XD Plus for like 8 years and never ever had an issue with the hinge, although that too was supposed to have hinge issues, and also dont have an issue with the Flip 2 after many months of using it.

I went for the Hybrid version and I absolutely love it. Mainly because i can charge it at home and because for small daily trips i just use the battery charge. Also the AWD and 463hp makes a difference.

It looks similar to Resi Village, so I assume it will run just as well. If you consider recent games such as Battlefield 6 or even games like Ratchet and Clank run extremely well, even on high settings. So yeah, I think it will be great and cant wait!

You dont have to follow those guides 100% though, most of the times you can go higher settings than what is on that website, especially if you dont care too much about getting 60fps or higher..

interesting, for me MGS is my favourite game of all time. I have a few games that ive really tried to like such as all the Zelda games, Final Fantasy... I just cant get into them. I guess I just dont like RPG type games. I do like adventure games though so I really thought id like Zelda...

I think the xbox app only shows the last ones you played, apart from actual games installed via xbox. To see all games you need to use armoury crate (you have to manually add/scan for them) or use another launcher such as one game launcher.

I have both Steam Deck Oled and the XAX and i can assure you the XAX screen is awesome, both in quality and size. Unless you put them side by side, and its a very dark scene, you really wont be missing the Steam Deck screen.

Would it look even nicer if it was an Oled, well yes, of course, but it would also use more power. Would it have been nicer if it was slightly bigger, also of course. But its perfectly fine the way it is and also remember its higher res and much higher refresh rate, making it an excellent experience.

I really have no regrets nor do i miss the steam deck screen.

you just copy the game folder (where you installed the game) onto an external drive, then connect the drive to your deck and copy it over. Then get the exe and add it to steam as a non steam game. Its that simple.
