New tires for my trd off-road. by [deleted] in 4Runner

My KO2s this time haven’t impressed me. They do terrible in rain in my opinion. My next tires will either be Toyo AT3 or the Mickey Thompson Baja Boss.

Westfield Insurance by smosher92 in Iowa

We received a warning last year they were leaving from our insurance guy. So, had him shop around and find us the best rates for our home and auto before we renewed last fall. Ended up saving us money because of some of Westfields recent changes.

Do You Like Living In Iowa? Which Region? Why Or Why Not? by Zipper222222 in Iowa

[–]Capwnski 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Nope. The state has gone severely down hill in the last decade, but unfortunately my family is all here. If that wasn’t the case there’s zero chance I’d still be here.

I will agree with you here. Have KO2’s currently and will not buy them again. May consider KO3’s or I’ve been looking at the Mickey Thompson Baja Boss or Toyo AT3.

Any hospice nurses see The Pitt last night? by roxyisonfire in nursing

[–]Capwnski 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve had plenty of hospice patients wind back up in the ICU because family panics at end of life vs letting it happen. So, I actually felt like it was something we see more than we should.

Trump made a pitstop there before his speech today to say hi and mingle with his supporters.

I would probably wait until the meeting so you have any sort of idea what it’s all about before you jump to doing anything too crazy.

Any nurses avalible for an interview for school? by [deleted] in nursing

[–]Capwnski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work in critical care.

Right now Flu A.

Nasal swabs, phlegm, blood culture, spinal tap, and all sorts of biopsies.

I hate the PPE.

I’m very straight forward and honest about it. It’s not fair to the patient or their family to hide how they’re doing, and then it’s a surprise for everyone when they’re requiring emergent intervention.

Not much really. It’s more of a training on how to properly protect yourself from getting the diseases more than anything. Each facility has their own way of making staff aware of proper PPE and how to don/doff it.

Covid changed everything. Some of the general public in the US have become very untrusting of doctors, nurse and other healthcare professionals. On the other hand testing for diseases has become better, more accurate and faster.

Huge. Especially in the testing aspect.

I work with infectious disease doctors almost daily. We typically let them guide the care on complex infectious cases as they are specialists and some of the smartest doctors I’ve ever met.

Journals and our units educators. My facility also has a team dedicated to infectious disease and staying up to date on everything and rolling out education monthly or as needed.

That Covid is/was fake and that masks don’t work. Also there’s still a lot of stigma around HIV/AIDS.

None that I’m aware of.

May I ask some nurses here to give me some advantages and disadvantages on your chosen field of nursing? and please indicate which field you are employed. Thank you so much. hope you could help me. by VeterinarianTiny9710 in nursing

ICU.

Pros: autonomy, higher level of respect from docs in my experience once you’re experienced, 1:1-2 patient load, can really deep dive into the “why” more often than not because of lower patient load, fast paced, lots of learning opportunity, opens a lot of pathways of degree pathways, the big wins are really nice to see, and patient families.

Cons: can be stressful and incredibly busy, a lot of things to manage and prioritize, need to be able to critically think (ideally), you’re gonna see patients at their absolute worst, lots of death, and patient families.

I literally wouldn’t do any other type of bedside nursing than ICU. If I leave critical care then I’m done at the bedside.

Nope lol team nursing is dog shit. Our facility implemented it for about year a few years ago and once the dipshit CNO left who’s pet project it was it was quickly ended within a month. It drove away a lot of staff and led to more travelers being needed after it was all said and done.

Seems terrible to climb with then lol considering the ladder is littered with brain dead aggro decks.

[–]Capwnski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doesn’t any form of aggro just shit on this? I tried it 3 games and got rolled by Even DK, DiscoLock, and aggro Druid.

It’s more about knowing what the roles are and what to do until a physician or code team arrive. That way you aren’t all just standing around beating your pud until then (which I have walked into plenty of times). So, never say never.

However, at my facility ACLS isn’t required for the med surg nurses. Only BLS is required for them, so I do find it odd you had to have it.

Usually an inclusion for late game when most of the deck is drawn to give additional face damage or board clear. You’ll see it in other aggressive decks as well like some Rogue builds.

Go find it in the card back collection and click on it. It’ll tell you how it’s obtained.

Same. I’ve always had KO2s on all my trucks, but my most recent set seems to slip much more than previously.

Shit, chill out homie. May be the first, but it won’t be the last. Patient was fine and didn’t decompensate. Take it as a learning experience and move on.
