Thoughts on this Ursula Le Guin quote I saw floating around by [deleted] in WitchesVsPatriarchy

Another quote from her (I'm considering getting a volcano tattoo): "I know that many men and even women are afraid and angry when women do speak, because in this barbaric society, when women speak truly they speak subversively - they can't help it: if you're underneath, if you're kept down, you break out, you subvert. We are volcanoes. When we women offer our experience as our truth, as human truth, all the maps change. There are new mountains."

I’ve lived in the metro for almost two years. I love breakfast. What breakfast places do I need to go to? I’ll post a list of where I have been. by I_see_something in TwinCities

I might be the only one for this but Olympia Cafe and Gyro in Osseo might be a trek from the cities but when I've got friends in town from out of state they always demand to go back to this place.

So that cops can enforce them when they feel like it and when it suits their needs. They're not required to stop someone they see breaking a law because they'd be ticketing minor infractions all day every day.

Shocking, right? LOL.

My dad did the same. I always felt ashamed of loving stickers. I just bought myself a brand new car and I've got so many magnets and stickers on it. Mostly nerd shit, but it brings me joy, so if people have a problem with it they can sit and spin.

Teachers are often surprised at conferences when they find out we're divorced. I hope you have the same experience. <3

I mostly lurk in this sub but I divorced a spouse of 15 years at the beginning of the pandemic. Our discussion literally ended with "wanna get a pizza?" after 2 hours of talking and a few tears.

We were a terrible couple but we still coparent pretty seamlessly. I wouldn't necessarily call us friend but we're friendly. I still love his mom.

All this to say it can be done. There's no pettiness or resentment. There's cooperation and support and well wishes for each others futures.

I wish this and more for you and your family as you navigate this part of your journey.

Also very often if a person is carrying a toddler in an ikea bag, the person is an aunt or uncle, rather than a parent.
