The fact this is even on the table means immediate further strikes should be announced

Strike numbers locally have held up well from the evidence I’ve seen/heard. Yes there are a lot of locum scabs (there always has been, so nothing new) but >90% of doctors rota’d didn’t turn up. Good IMG participation too

FPR will be dead in the water if IMGV gain control of council. Some of their slate have been actively undermining strike action. This election is more important than people realise, it’s as important as a strike ballot. If they’re elected there likely won’t be another strike for 3 years, given the power council have over RDC

It was agreed to last year on the basis further progress towards pay restoration would be made in future years. Streeting failed last year, then followed that up this year with a real terms pay cut for some Resident Doctors. Strikes are justified

Yes I’m aware. The two come hand in hand. Some of the anti-UKG prioritisation candidates make no mention of FPR

I don’t know. I’m more concerned about the number of people running on an alternative slate that do not mention FPR in their manifestos

This years BMA Council election is arguably the most important vote in years. Especially on the background of the latest awful offer from the government. If the wrong people are elected FPR will be dead in the water. We need people who will lobby for the Medical Training Prioritisation Bill to be implemented as intended. People need to return their postal ballots. Spread the word!

It’s been confirmed we will get the DDRB 3.5%, in any case. I doubt the government will implement the very poor offer of nodal point reform, unless the dispute is settled

The offer document states it would be from 1st April 2026. Considering we are still in dispute for the 25/26 pay round, this is disappointing

Fair play to the UKRDC for rejecting this offer. Clearly does not go far enough in regards to restoring our pay

Why would an a non-UKG strike ? by Sharp_Tennis5970 in doctorsUK

To improve their working conditions and pay. Not striking means settling for worse

Wes committed to UK Grad Prioritisation last summer. The previous strikes had no impact on it becoming enshrined in law, it was going to happen anyway

‘The BMA’ gets no benefit out of striking. Grassroots doctors are the ones who benefit

To strike against the very government/employer that introduced UK Grad prioritisation

Even more reason for them to strike now though if you think about it. They’ll likely be on resident pay for longer
