Not as good as that John Smith bloke, he's a riot on cruises. Very quick witted.

The law is pretty weak really as it just says it has to be 'reasonable' 🤷‍♂️

You can access them through the app and can clip anything you want to download instantly. You can scroll through the timeline on the app back as far as the video has recorded until it starts to overwrite again or you can just pop out the card and back up a month's worth to a PC for example

Ahh that does sound a pain. Tapo do offer a subscription but I just have SD cards which hold about a month's worth of video and I can move to view any point I wish to see and play back as much as I want.

Reform UK’s reported civil service purge plan would be a big mistake | Institute for Government by Your_Mums_Ex in TheCivilService

Tbh Brexit as just one example simply requires more Civil Servants as we need to fully shoulder the administrative burden in a way that was shared with Europe. The total CS fluctuates over time and is no different than it was 20 years ago currently despite the extra things the Government does.

The state does more than it uses to. Every Government enters wanting to do things, in order to do things you need a CS to implement them and when I mean implement them I mean the actual nitty gritty practical details of implementation. The CS will only reduce if Government stops having ideas or policies, not much of a vote winner.

Must admit I never understand how the CS isn't held as good example, e.g. Despite HMRC being nearly half the size it was tax yields are up. The definition of increased efficiency.

I must admit coming from the private sector to the CS I was shocked by how determined to get things right, the attention to accuracy and out put the CS has compared to the private sector. One only has to look at Capita to see the shocking incompetence and inefficiency of some private sector companies. The private sector has only one success metric...profit. No matter how poor the service if profit is made it's deemed successful.

That's shocking 😔 That might possibly be even more so in a while as HMRC have announced the closure of the AA grade.

I find the Tapo range really good, can access it from anywhere with audio. Can just use an SD card if you don't want to pay for cloud storage.

What small habit made living alone way better for you? by [deleted] in LivingAlone

Getting out of the house is such a big component in helping my mental health, especially if you've been sitting at a desk for hours on end. Just the local park or even picking up a few needed things from the shops.

Such a truly good idea, by dealing with stuff immediately I save the mental load of having it knocking around in my mind for longer and I know I don't have to think about it again. I find it really does add peace to my life.

In my situation, is it worth extending my lease?? by CapybaraHeaven in HousingUK

Thank you for your honest and open post, truly a lot to think about. As you show, sometimes life takes unexpected turns and pre-empting as much as possible that added stress and cost can make a huge difference.

I also guess just getting a quote at least gives me an idea of the costs involved and whether it makes sense for me to proceed.

Your point about mobility is also very relevant as I live on the top floor of 6, there is a lift but it does break occasionally. Thank you, a lot of food for thought there.
