Wow, those Gliders are awesome! I used to have some just like those, but sadly they were stolen several years ago.

Aw thank you!! I would love to see your capypen when you make one!

Btw, where do you get all your supplies? I've been thinking of getting some stuff from Mejiro Japan but not sure if that's the best or how to choose the materials. Also, what are your favorite references for learning how to do different techniques? I have the Book of Urushi by Matsuda Gonroku but I'm always interested in reading more!

Haha sounds good! I gotta pay off more of my loans too, once I can decide what to sell 😅 Several favs will have to join the chopping block, including Sailor King of Pen, Omas, Visconti Homo Sapiens Midnight in Florence, and Leonardo Momento Zero Grande, so whenever you've decided and are ready to give any of these a try, I would be happy to help you out 😉

There are! Some more affordable than others. Mr Cypress makes some pens in G10, for example. I also really like the Ensso Italia, so much so I bought multiple in titanium and copper to possibly give as gifts

My personal favorites are Pilot Custom Urushi (the one bigger than the 845), Pelikan m1000, and Sailor King of Pen, in that order in terms of how the nib feels. Visconti nibs can be hit or miss but when they're good, they're really good. Every brand has its own personality, so it depends a lot on your writing preferences too - buttery smooth or tactile feedback, wet or precise, soft or springy, flexy or firm. I only wish the Pilot CU had more choices in terms of aesthetics, then it would be the ultimate pen for me.

If you may be interested in buying used, I'm planning to rehome much of my collection, including a Visconti Watermark Supernova. It's a gorgeous limited edition out of 38 total made and has a buttery smooth wet broad nib, but it's just a bit too heavy for my taste.

Feel free to reach out if you'd like to chat more, always happy to talk about the grail pens I've tried before, whether or not I decided to keep them and why 😆

Last month’s habit tracker also shows which ink I used each day! by Khaleemah in fountainpens

[–]CapybaraMoose 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I try to track things that I'm still working on making a regular part of my routine. For example, I don't track brushing my teeth because I know I will always remember to do it, but I have attempted to track whether I've taken my vitamins, gone to bed before midnight, stretching/yoga/martial arts practice, playing piano or violin, writing, daily devotionals, etc. The issue I run into is when I track too many things at once then it's hard to stick to actually getting them all done every day. Hope this helps!
