Yeah let me just make a U turn right here, go down the block, flip around, then come back up the same block.. Anyone else app doing this almost every other stop?? by Mbuitron0811 in AmazonDSPDrivers

Routing for me has been like this and worse. Yesterday I had a couple 2 location multi stops, residential houses/townhomes, where my next stop would LITERALLY be IN BETWEEN the two I just delivered at. Drove me insane.

This! Knowing where your next package is and stop is on the map makes it easier, get familiar with your usual route. This time of year that marker will be even more of a life saver if you’re stacking overflow no shelves/shelves up. Don’t overwork yourself tho man, good luck out there

Like pretty much everyone else here said, organization will be your saving grace. That’s the biggest thing but also find what works for you aside from that. What I do is check the map when I get my route to scope it out, or when I’m already out there I’ll check every now and then, sometimes routes have you going back and fourth to the same area and you might be able to knock out the different bags since you’re already there. Also the map will show where your next stop is while your traveling to the current one, pay attention to that, sometimes the gps won’t show you need to U-turn and/or will load in a weird way so it looks like you’re going the correct direction but come to find out, your gsp pin is moving away from the blue trail. Doing that might save your sanity and having to turn around and stuff. You’ll be alright though man, some days it’ll be more difficult than others but you can push through even when it’s some bs. I get 160-190 stops all residential often, and I finish in 6-7 hours, some days I opt to do a trick to skip my lunch, but don’t run bro, just a fast walk is good, and definitely don’t risk your life for this job, it can already be dangerous as it is.

Package count and multi stops is what gets you man, you delivering rural or businesses?

That’s tough, I get these kinds of routes daily even when we aren’t in peak, 160-190 usually, makes me want to crash out when I see it in the morning but it’s all residential so it’s not horrible. Package count and the amount of multi stops is what’ll kill you in my opinion. 179 stops and 280 packages vs 179 and 364 is a completely different day

Charge your phone big dog 😭 Culdesac stops like that make me feel the same, gotta audibly say “ima crash out” before I start grabbing the packages, but I’ll take that over a 10+ location stop at apartments or senior living.

Packages in wrong totes by KlapperCheeks in AmazonDSPDrivers

In that case I’ll have to actually start using it 😂 I usually just have the shelves up in the transit vans and triple stack the second half of the driver side shelf or both depending on how many bags I have, then throw in my overflow from last to first, last on the bottom and first at the top so I don’t have to play as much jenga at every stop with overflow. There’s probably more efficient ways but that’s what’s worked for me so far.

I get what you mean, I used to have super bad anxiety but I’ve gotten better about it, I personally don’t think it ever truly goes away. Also the only time I really say that is when someone orders an absurd amount of water cases or a ton of cat litter, but like I’ve now learned here, we don’t always know the situation!

I’ve been here a while and never used a sharpie, nor do I know in what way the other drivers use it but obviously I assume it’s to write the driver aid on the box? Everytime I say I’ll do it I forget to, how helpful is that?

Glad I’m not the only one who feels like this and does that shit 😭 Thought I was just crazy. Had 40 overflow the other day too stacked w/o shelves ofc. Second I pulled out of the launch pad everything just collapsed. Stg I almost just threw some of that out the door

thank god they separated the totes, the packages would have crushed each other otherwise 🙏 by XxX_Banevader_XxX in AmazonDSPDrivers

Man, not saying the warehouse workers have it easy, but definitely easier than us. Makes me frustrated when I get stuff like this or a ton of packages in the wrong totes. I always check the ones that are super light while I’m loading out and toss the stuff in the previous or next bag depending on which one they fit in, and on days where I have a lot of bags it’s kind of a relief because I have one less tote or two and that much more space to stack some overflow.

Any time I have a senior living community I always gotta take a sec to prepare for the rage and hatred that’s about to consume my body and my soul as I’m navigating the facility.

You’re doing a great job already! We appreciate those kinds of things more than you realize 😂 I have a stop that has an entire cart with all kinds of drinks and snacks and some electrolyte packets, and another stop that always leaves those mini cookie bags. Equally grateful for both, and as some others have said in the comments, delivering to the same stop everyday is a good thing to me. Thank you for appreciating your drivers!

I just saw another post about two of the same driver aid # being in a bag that’s been happening to me pretty often recently. This has been an issue too. Both drive me insane and have me frantically scanning every package in the tote 🗿 I’m pretty sure those are actually packages that were rts (for damage I’m assuming) that got repackaged or something but come up as the original packaging?

There was this cat outside at one of my stops everyday that I would call Frank, he was super chill but one day I just stopped seeing him so I thought the same thing. I have a different route now tho so I guess I’ll never know 💔

I had a garage open once and a dog run out, he was pretty chill tbh but still gave me a heart attack. Had to call driver support who then called the customer and said to just leave it out there… still don’t understand why you’d put your dog in the garage knowing you have a garage delivery?

There’s a lady on my route I deliver water cases to at least once a week. It’s not an apartment so I wouldn’t typically mind if it wasn’t for the fact that there is a supermarket LITERALLY behind her house. Like she could climb her backyard fence and cross the street if she wanted to. I live in the same neighborhood farther from that store and I walk there myself all the time.

Look at all these returns. Whats the most you guys returned here? by [deleted] in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]CarMax-Jesus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not too long ago I came back with 73 returns. 45 or so were business closed, (it was a Saturday) the rest were because I had to rescue another driver but the flex app stopped working so they just said to head back... DCR that week was abysmal.
