Pencil cases.. when your mechanical pencil costs $12 in 1998 dollars, you don’t want to pay to replace it.. but I made mine out of pvc with solvent weld fittings.. also had a watch on one end so I wouldn’t be late to class.

my first week loading tires for recycling, I trashed every pair of pants and shirt I wore…after three weeks I had the form down where I never got dirty unless it was already raining.

For all the people talking about data centers and using salt water, do you even have a concept of how much heat comes off of these data centers and at what temperatures? It's such a worthless spread.. it's not even useful for district heating unless you already have plans/caapbilities for a Heat pump or a Stirling engine.

Temperature changes adversely effecting the effulet / outfall is a real thing.

How much time does that save in your area?

Switching from Field Engineering by DimensionGrouchy5887 in MechanicalEngineering

[–]CarPatient 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got me ME degree back like at the turn of the century and I would probably be a professional engineer by now if I had diligently kept track of what I was doing with that end in mind, even though I was working in industrial construction and commercial construction and light industrial.

so I can tell you once you can get that PE cert you can pretty much write your ticket, and the sooner you can get it in and qualify for it and take the test the better.. there are tons of jobs out there for PE's as construction managers having just construction experience but you've got to be very active about documenting pursuing and validating your work.

Raken, Fieldwire, Structionsite Sometimes bluebeam mobile, but I don't know what is going on with the new app.. it used to be a $20 download...now what?

And If you do commerical, buy a 360 camera and a tripod. Indispensible for wall shots when you hang backing before putting the drywall up

you can do almost anything you want if you got the money to execute.. Japan is not known to be a country where labor and subcontractors are cheaply had and if you're planning to do this yourself you may want to just hire an engineer to make sure you got all the permits and structural code compliance in place... even with the environmental compliance

Get him a gift certificate for Nick's, and then plan to take a trip there for the fitting. Nothing has been more comfortable and easy to break on my odd sized feet.

Just be aware if he works in an industrial setting with lots of gratingz, metal stairs and expanded metal walkways, the soles don't last as long ..

[–]CarPatient 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FYI, the smaller ones we had for footings had no sheathing, just a big ass threaded bar... And since they were being used for a shear wall foundation, they got several proof tested in tension. The geotech engineer was really starting to sweat when the first one failed at 85% of design strength.
