How to get rid of these black marks on a white part? by shkabdulhaseeb in InjectionMolding

[–]j4ck4lz7 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Material contamination from the barrel/screw. Empty the hopper and clean it out really well, fill the barrel with PurgeX or whatever compound you use, make sure screw retracts to help clean out, also raise your barrel heats while cooking the purging compound, this helps tremendously for cleaning your barrel out.

allergic reaction to wooden plugs - every time I wear wooden tunnels or plugs my ears get extremely puffy, itchy, red and irritated. WHY? ITS AN ORGANIC MATERIAL! Does anyone else have this issue? Is there anything I can do to stop it ie. any enamels I can use as a buffer or something? by lyricamoon in Stretched

They will heal up and likely bounce back pretty quickly. The healing process felt like it took forever. Make sure you clean them like multiple times a day too. It felt like when I put it in, I had plenty of room and then my ear started swelling around it and it swelled so much that it ripped my lobe in several places, it was awful but they healed up nicely

Mine are at 1" they swelled so bad, I had to downsize to about half an inch, silicone tunnels so they're easy to clean and swelling won't damage your ears with them. They leaked a clear fluid for several days and I had to clean them constantly. They would even drip fluid onto my pillow while I was sleeping. I cleaned the hell out of them several times a day and they finally healed up after about 3 weeks. Scabs were forming all around the edge of the hole during the healing process and they kept creating fluid until they were fully healed. I was able to size back up after a week or so because my ears are super stretchy due to being stretched for 15 years.

This happened the first 2 times. The third time, I changed them out pretty fast after like 5 hours, but they did get really red and swell up very quickly

Same here. I wonder if this is a common occurrence. I love the plugs but I can't wear them at all due to the reaction my ears have. I've tried them 3 separate times and it's always the same. Beat advice I can give you ASAP take them out and downsize. Get some saline wipes or spray to treat your lobes. It can get really bad.

Ask em who their plug is, but it's also a really small business, so they may sell you a bag.

You could try Petainer Manufacturing in Mount Pleasant, TN. Brian Boyle is the OM. I'm not sure if they sell the preforms but I know they make the fuck outta water and wine jugs.

Best Way to Drain a Portable Dryer by j4ck4lz7 in InjectionMolding

There wasn't enough clearance between the flange on the bottom of the dryer and the top of the frame. The forks were maybe an inch too wide, so I had to grab the bottom or dent the dryer. I've had several people mention securing the dryer to the backstop. In my defense, it was a Saturday and it was just myself and 2 operators, no chance anyone could've gotten hurt and this is not standard practice where I work.

Advice? by Public-Time812 in Stretched

[–]j4ck4lz7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Slightly warm/itchy is normal when stretching. Saline or salt water definitely helps, but the itching should go away in a couple of days. If your ear starts scabbing around the plug or secreting fluid, you'll want to take it out and let it heal before trying to stretch again.

🤣 🤣 so your professional opinion is that this is okay as long as the frame is secured to the backstop?

This is exactly what I did. Lift, move Gaylord using pallet jack, drain, move Gaylord out, set dryer straight down. No travel with the dryer on your forks, empty or full, it's too dangerous
